Re: Ok, so I'm convinced... again.

Speaking of getting another JMD, I'm not sure what's going on but there are a couple stores that are blowing out brand new JMDs on ebay for about half price. Maybe they're clearing the supply line before they release the JMD2. True! I saw a brand new one for sale on E-bay for $600.00. That's got to...

Re: Ok, so I'm convinced... again.

What a coincidence! I was over at my friends house today. Took the JMD over to show it to him and compare it to his JVM 410. He has a cab loaded with Vintage 30's, so I wanted to see how the JMD sounded through that too. I thought my JMD50 definitely needed to be cranked up to around 5 on the master...

Re: Any advice between the following EL34 choices?

Hi zappatista One hour ago i arrived from my amp tech. We built in my JMD 100 original Marshall EL 34. They looks like Svetlana tubes and the tech said this too. We changed the chinese tubes whith the Svetlanas. In Germany we say that someone can hear the grass growing. That means that he can hear ...

Any advice between the following EL34 choices?

I'm going to retube the JMD, and keep stock tubes as backup. It's been awhile since I've retubed an EL34 amp, so I'm just curious if any of you have any opinions on the following tubes that I've narrowed down to the ones I'll choose to buy. Winged C New Sensor Svetlana Ruby EL34 BSTR I guess my conf...

Re: Doug Aldrich playing the JMD1

Nice Shot. There's quite a few vids on U-tube of Doug playing through the JMD. I found this slightly obscure interview with Doug, and he has some interesting comments about the JMD. He talks about using preamp 13, and gives some insight as to why he uses it. I think preamp 13 sounds great when the a...

My JMD is the first 50 watt head that I've ever bought after owning around 10 different 100 watt amps. i'm more than happy with it. Glad I don't have
to spring for 2 more power tubes later on!

Re: First Gig with my JMD:1 102

That's rad about Mick Box using the JMD. One of the reasons I always loved those early Uriah Heep albums is because they were one of a handfull of early 70's bands that did a great job of recording wide open distorted Marshalls. Just great guitar sounds. Songs like Bird of Prey or even the whole Loo...

Re: Gig with JMD.

The Bogner in the end I felt was maybe a little too refined and not enough bark and rawness . Hey, finally got around to checking your vid. That was a good sounding setup. I think your quote here is exactly what I tell people about the boutique amps I've owned. (Bogner, SLpawn) That they seem over ...

Re: Gig with JMD.

I had to become a member today after reading this thread. I am 49 .be 50 in a few months . Just bought a 50 watt JMD for gigging . At one time I had a Bogner Xtc and a Fuchs tripple drive supreme with two 2x12 Mojave cabs loaded with v30's and G12H30's With a A,B,Y switch and an oversized pedal boa...

Re: Gig with JMD.

Hey: I'm 50, I get up as early as 4:15 a.m. to work. THere's no way I could gig on a regular basis. I'm lucky that I found a band of likewise dudes, so there's no pressure from anyone in the band to go balls to the wall. A few good gigs here and there, and I'm pretty damned happy. Anyway, after spen...

Gig with JMD.

Wow, I haven't posted on the forum in forever. I recently picked up a JMD as I was getting tired of lugging my amazing VM paired with HAze rig around. I also keep running into band situations that require instant sound changes, and I got tired of the battle of switching up on the same rig, so I deci...

Re: Videos of Playing Seattle Hempfest WIth VM rig.

Yep, sounds great. Thanks for all the info. So, are you using one amp for rhythm, one for lead? I've never used a two amp setup... too f*ckin' lazy. :bgrin Well, I started out by using the VM as my main amp that was on all the time, kicking in the Haze for solo boosts, and using both amps at once f...

Yes! Well, sort of. I laughingly call it my TSL50. Apparently, when we we get extremely heavy rain, our roof leaks... This is starting to sound like the "Story Of Job"-----With amplifiers! Hey, I bought a $700.00 used DSL last year, and it was a nightmare of explosions, meltdowns, and other assorte...
