A lot of people that have marshalls modded to the #34 spec have complained about it being extremely bright. They tend to keep their presence and treble almost all the way down... This should be consistent with the afd 100 b/c it is the exact same mod. I would think that the juicing the powertubes s...
Can't wait for the new record on our side, won't be getting it till next week. Don't forget the other sig wah. :bgrin The octave fuzz is pretty good actually, apparently it was used in the new album. Similarly with the new classic wah. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll99/clockworks76/Misc/Slash...
Is he using the JCM800 for cleans ? Ace doesn't really go into it... You can see that the Master Volume knob on JCM 800 is set to 3 and Gain at 10. EQ knobs are set almost the same as AFD100. I see no point in doing this. May be Gain is set to 1.0 ? Any way I didn't hear any clean tone in his recor...
Hi, I've just got my new amp last week, the Marshall JMP 2061X, pure Plexif tone. This 20 watts Handwired mini Plexi head is a jewel, his tones are fantastic, and his 20 watts are very powerfull. No other modern Marshall amps (exept the Handwired Range) can deliver such delicious vintage tones like...
I have found there to be much less bottom and much more treble on the #34 setting and I am having a tough time getting used to it. In particular, I find it tough to play a single coil pickup through the #34 setting because it is so trebly. Rolling off the tone on the guitar definitely helps but I'v...
Planning to buy a RR sign amp...Is this amp OK? Is it controlable or just too fuckin loud?? Can you play ot whitout blowing of your ears and the neighbours??? Any suggestions... Prices dropped dramaticaly on these amps...why?? Steve D, what is this amp worth, is it a players amp or just too heavu t...
[I think he had the graphic in the loop. Because I think it sounds like midboost after the distortion. Think i read that in some old interview with Slash also. It gets kind of raw if you boost mids after the distortion. To my ears it doesn´t sound that good. You get a much warmer tone if you boost t...
For classic rock and hard rock, I find the greenbacks "farty" and not loud enough, they aloso don't cut through the band mix as well as vintage 30's.
I find that vintage 30's are a lot warmer , tighter, louder and cut really well in a band mix.
I find this true with any Marshall amp.
Recently I picked up a set of Groove tube 6550s #5 value for a very rediculously cheap price from a going out of business sale. This place also used to sell Marshalls and said that 6550s would work in a VM if you were in a pinch and had blown tubes because they are in the KT66s family supposedly. O...
Some players don't understand people having a VM-stack in their (bed)-room... I don't want to offend other peoples opinion, just want to share my point of view about it! I post this topic after a forum-discussion with Mety in the Topic about the VM being discontinued... So Mety, really no offend to...
What Settings would you suggest to get a similar tone to this Steve Stevens clip with the VM? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmMdlWhwdt8 Thanks alot High Dynamic Range, presence and tone knobs on 10, master 8-10, detail 7, body 4-5, no mid-boost. You'll be close bacause Steve dimed an 18watt Roccaf...
It has more gain than a standard 1959, sort of "hot rodded" The amp isn't for everyone but it does sound very good. Many YouTube clips of it. thanks for your answer ;) and what is the "hotrodded" mode on the 1959RR ? is that like more gain ? or the sound variation like cascading the input ? I own o...
