Re: 1988 Marshall 2550, JCM 50/ 25W

That's a Silver Jubilee allright. I think after the "Silver Jubilee" year ended they continued making the amp as a Custom JCM800.
So it's the same amp and if u can get it for a decent price .. GO FOR IT.

Re: Satch returns to Marshall, should have been the VM!

I have the Marshall 6100 and the Peavey JSX, both excellent amps that Joe has used over the years. Last year I bought the JVM and sold it pretty much right away.... The amp just has no "life". I sounded OK when I was playing by myself but in a band setting the amp just never managed to deliver. It w...

Re: VM 2266 - 10 Guitars - Same setting

I like the white Les Paul tone the best followed by the second Telecaster you had. Great collection of guitars, well thought out and lots of diversity. Thanxs surf ... diversity is important to me as is my musical taste (my iPod has more Stravinsky than Metallica ... and I like Metallica hehe) I th...

Re: Vintage 30's vs. G12C "Greenbacks"

I have the 425A with the G12C that I use with my VM. Today I just picked up a 1960AV Slash signature cabinet with Vintage 30's. It'll be fun stacking them next to each other to hear how they sound ... I've posted some clips in the demo section of my VM and are thinking about doing a speaker demo. I ...

Re: VM 2266 - 10 Guitars - Same setting

Yeah I'm sure most of us have stories about guitars that we have regrettably sold.... Thankfully I can't think of any that i really miss. There's a Gibson SG i'd like to get back from some 20 years ago ... but I'm pretty sure i'd be dissapointed if i played it now. What was dreamguitar back then mig...

Re: VM 2266 - 10 Guitars - Same setting

never expected a Les Paul Custom And a Les Paul Standard could sound so different O_o +1. well i wouldve expected a tiny difference but it was cool to hear one straight after the other with same settings. really showed the differences. i always thought if ya have a custom why bother gettin a standa...

Thanxs ... I'm pretty satified with my current setup.
If I'll add ... ok hmmm... i'll correct my self :whatever WHEN I'll add another Guitar to my collection it will most probably be another Gibson Les Paul (or possibly a SG)

VM 2266 - 10 Guitars - Same setting

Recorded a little fun demo playing a few standard licks ... using all my 10 guitars ... with the same setting on the amp.
Very plain setup with all EQ's at 5 - MV at 5 - Detail at 7 - Body at 4. HDR - No Mid Boost.

Re: Vm 2266 and a jem555,flattop usa solid colour wolgang

Hi I have two Jems myself. Haven't really played that much with those on the VM. My preference is Gibsons. I find them to be very articulate on the VM. I'll record a sample for you so you could hear for yourself.... heck i'll even do the same setting on a Gibson. I'll try to get it done later today...
