Re: 1936 question

It's not so much "down on the G12T-75 " as they just don't sound good with the VM. :sick They sound pretty good with some other amps. Yes, they still make the 1936V but in most cases you would have to special order it. Well it certainly makes sense to use Vintage speakers in the Vintage Modern .......

Re: Found my dream Les Paul

I am drooling as we speak ... that is a mighty fine guitar. My Les Pauls pales by comparison !
Congrats !
Be sure to post some clips once you try it with the VM !

Re: 1936 question

I believe they are exactly the same. Just the JCM900 is an older version. The Vintage 30 model is the 1936V. Wow... I didn't know there was a Vintage version of the 1936. I bought the regular one with G12T-75 about a year ago. Do they still make them ? I havent tried my 1936 yet on my 2266 ... but ...

Re: Will Marshall ever reproduce a new JMP1

For years I played through a rack setup using a Marshall JMP1 pre with two Marshall 9100 amps, the rig served me well for many years and I sold it all back in 2005 to my regret. With the release Mesa's recording preamp I would hope Marshall is paying attention and come out with a new version of the...

Thats what I love about the VM as well. The way it cuts through the soundscape. I can't wait to try it out in a band setting... should be fun.
Lots of raw energy in your playing. Cool stuff !

Re: VM help

Adjustments or to adjust the settings of the VM until I try right? Or I have to make some changes to the VM system? I want 2266, I still get good clean? He probably meant adjustment on the knobs. If you dial up one setting that fits 80's rock you might have to do adjust several knobs in order to di...

Re: VM help

Absolutely the VM would fit your need. Just listen to the soundclips available and read all you can about peoples experiences but as what any amp and this one in particular: Try it out for yourself ... you might not get it dialed up right away as this is not an plug & play amp. But play around with ...

Re: Robin Trower and 2 VMs!!!!!!!!!!!!

That Prince solo was awful - sorry :thumbsdown. The guy doing the solos for the first half of the song was fantastic however, and he had a killer tone going. I always thought that was one of Clapton's best solos - so lyrical, almost a song in itself which I think is what a solo should be. That's pr...

Re: Robin Trower and 2 VMs!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zappa...can't think of a single song other then "titties and beer" he did I liked, never thought of him as remotly good although his son Dwezil is a very good player. I mean I very strange music and never thought much talent at all in his work. Vai, SRV, Vai is damm good but a he is a one trick pon...

Re: Robin Trower and 2 VMs!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah yeah Zappa was a real badass on guitar and one of the all time best. I saw him a few times and once when he toured with Jean-Luc Ponty on violin. That was incredible. Don't eat the yellow snow! :laugh I have a friend who Vai took on his last Europe tour with him to open up, Zack Wiessinger whose...

Re: Robin Trower and 2 VMs!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think Mr Trower is quite ready to join those ranks imho! HAHAHA! None of those guys could hold a candle to Trower and most weren't even a glimmer in their daddy's eye while Trower was as famous as the Rolling Stones in his heyday. Vai sounds like a buzzing mosquito next to just one of Robin...
