Re: VM, LP & a BB Preamp

Thanks guys. I've never had a guitar and amp that fits the way I play as well as the VM and my LP. It's inspiring and, actually, makes you play better when it sounds good.

VM, LP & a BB Preamp

This clip was on here a year or so ago, but somehow was lost. It's a live recording of my band doing an Elvis song. I'm using my 2466 on the low dynamic range through an avatar 2X12 with V 30's. The master volume is up around 7-8 with the detail at 10, body at 0 and mid-boost on. For the solo, I kic...

2466 kicked ASS tonight!!!!

My VM died on me last weekend due to a blown tube. I replaced them with new ones and it sounded better than ever at the gig tonight. It just kicked ass.

Re: HELP!!! 2466 DIED

My VM 2466 quit on the gig tonight. All the lights come on, but no sound. I verified the speaker cab, speaker cord , guitar cord and guitar all work, so it must be the head. SteveD, do you think it could be a tube? Anybody else experienced this? Any help you can give me is appreciated. Thanks. It's...

My son brought my old Marshall TSL 122 from home and I was able to finish the gig. We started 30-40 minutes late, but after that it was fine.

2466 set to 8ohms into 16ohm cab?

I accidently ran my 2466 set to 8 ohms into my 16 ohm cab. I switched the amp to 16 ohms and realized I like the sound better when it's set to 8 ohms.

Would it damage my amp to run it at 8ohms into a 16 ohm cab for extended periods of time?

ill have to try the high at least once
There's something about the low range that seems so "organic". I'm really enjoying it.

Not really, went from high range to low so actually reduced gain a bit.
That's right, but the boost pedals made up for it.

Tried something new with the VM on the gig

My normal settings on my 2466 are: Master Volume - 7 Mid Boost - On Dynamic Range - High Detail - 3 Body - 0 Last night I tried: Master Volume - 7 Mid Boost - On Dynamic Range - Low Detail - 10 Body - 3 I used 2 boost pedals, a Maxon OD 808 set for a slight clean boost and a BB Preamp set for higher...

Thanks for the input, guys. As some of you might know, I bought a set of Tung Sol kt66's from musicians friend. I discoverd, via this forum, they're not compatible with my VM. So, I'm exchanging them and the only other brand MF carries is groove tube.

More tube questions

I'm looking at the groove tube kt66's on musiciansfriend.com. Do any of you guys know the difference between the ratings?

* Low (1-3 GT Rating)
* Medium (4-7 GT Rating)
* High (8-10 GT Rating)

Thanks.
