Its time to change the tubes in my 6100(el34s). Can anyone tell me the tubes that are closest to the originals that came in her(or personal favorites), and what the bias should be. Also, I've changed tubes in my Vintage Modern and it was pretty easy, is the 6100 just as simple?

Thanks for all the help. I did'nt notice any hiss or pop when going from standby. My cab works fine with my VM so I don't think the problem is there. The mute button is'nt on either. I may have to take her to a tech.

I did run the amp into a 4ohm head using what I thought was the 4ohm setting! I removed the fuses and the lights came on and all the switches seem to be fully engaged. If you have any more ideas please help! And thanks for setting me straight on the 16,4,8 selector.

I've had a bad run on luck with amps, first my VM and now my 6100. Can anyone help me figure out why my 6100 has died? She will power up, with all tubes glowing, but no sound comes. I put in 4 new preamp valves in (JJ's) and it seems to have solved the problem. One of the covered valves had been replaced before so I'll keep a close eye on her and may gig with my 6100 for a while. Anyways thanks for all the help guys.

Yeah, I biased the power tubes. I guess I need to change the other preamp tubes as well. Can anyone recommend the best preamp tubes?

It was on 6 thru my 1960!! She's lost volume and sustain as well. The overall gain hasn't been effected but it's lost it's "balls" for lack of a better word. By the way, I only changed the two uncovered pre amp tubes.

I changed the power tubes and pre amp tubes, and now the amp's presence control does'nt work, and she does'nt seem quite as loud. Any ideas?
