Re: Pedals with your VM?

....I havent really found anything I can do with the head unit itself. I don't get this statement. What do you mean by this? As far as pedals, the VM takes all kinds of pedals very well. Just look at my sig to see the pedals I use with it. Typo, I meant "can't do" I will fix it. Thanks for the tip ...

Thanks guys. The reboot worked. It took me a couple of tries though.

Question about the VM's Reverb

I was playing my VM today and was turning the reverb on and off but couldn't hear a difference. I know the reverb is kind of subtle but I turned it all the way up. This was at low volume, but I don't think that would make a difference. Is there anything I can troubleshoot besides the pedal?

I use a Mesa Recto Vertical cab with V30's in it and I love the way it sounds. Slash uses V30's with his VM.

Re: I want to get a VM...

The VM does the blues very well. Henry of Los Lonely Boys uses a DSL. I have had both amps and to me the VM is probably a little better at the blues. I love both amps though. Also Robin Trower and Joe Bonamassa use the amp so that should tell that the amp does the blues.

Re: What's a good 2x12 cab for a 2266?

The mesa 2x12 recto cabs are awesome, and you can find them used about the same price as an avatar new. I hear great things about the avatar cabs too and they are pretty cheap. The Marshall 2x12's I have tried (don't remember the model but I think it was the 1936) were made out of cheap pressed boar...

Re: Marshall VM stacks in the (bed)-room...endless discussio

I used to play live all the time but nowadays I just don't have the time to (because of pharmacy school). I mostly just play at home with my VM. Nothing against the smaller amps but even at low volumes the VM sounds a ton better than any I have played. So what does it matter if I want to own a VM an...

Re: new here and wondering if VM is for me?

According to the bands you listed, I think you would be happy with either a VM or a DSL. They are both great amps. I would personally go with the VM, but that is just me. I think it sounds great at low volumes but like any other amp it sounds better louder. If you can try them both with your guitar.

Re: The Journey Continues ...

This makes the point that the VM is a amp you learn how to play, the more time you spend with it the more you discover what it can do. I went through a speaker phase with the amp for about a year trying about every speaker celestion made which got pretty confusing for awhile. To simplify things for...
