Re: Orange Bax Bangeetar

It does much more than metal sounds, it's pretty versatile. The symbols were confusing before they started adding words too :)

Re: Orange Bax Bangeetar

It's a little while since I posted here, just thought I'd drop in to say I was nuts enough to buy one of these pedals :) It is seriously impressive. everything from a pushed clean, to crunchy overdrive, to massively saturated distortion is in there, and a huge range of tone shaping with the very pow...

Re: Little more about Astoria

These amps look very, very interesting to me. I'll definitely be looking to try them out when they become available

Re: Changing output Valve?

well, according to Santiago, who designed the amp, in the SL-5 any octal output valve can be used without adjustment. So work away, and let us know how you get on :)

Re: how many amps do you own

I've got 19 (I think), and 40 guitars. Keep planning to get rid of some, but then find it very hard to part with any! I suppose I must be a hoarder :( My Marshalls are 1969 Super P.A., 1978 2204, JCM900 MkIII 2500, VM 2266 head, VM 2266 C., AFD100, YJM100, SL-5. Oh, and a JCM2000 DSL 201, which is t...

Re: Possible NGD..... Gretsch White Falcon

looks good. I'd say if you want it, go for it. I just spent a while thinking whether or not to buy a Brian Setzer Sig Gretsch, but when I went back to look again, it had been sold.

Re: Bonamassa's Gold Klon Centaur

I can understand the frustration of pedal/amp makers at other people copying their circuits, but someone who really wants to can clean this crap off and copy it anyway. All this goop does is make the circuit almost impossible for the legitimate owner to repair if anything goes wrong. I'm not a fan. ...

Woodhead wrote:Nice collection . There all pretty ones . Whats the big dial on the black custom do ?

Thanks :)

The dial is a varitone switch. As far as I can tell, it was factory original, so presumably a custom order

My Les Pauls

I find myself alone in the house today, and I haven't seen much of my guitars lately, so I just took the notion to get out my Les Pauls. Now they're out, why not share them? :) http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii166/blue1million/DSC00464_zpsb629c243.jpg from left to right, the top row are 1978 The...

Re: Lollar Gold Foil Pickups

this is the first thing they get asked about? hmm. should I have heard of this type of pickup? It does seem interesting though. I'm unclear about their size though. Although the pickup seems much shallower, does it fit in a standard humbucker route?

DSL5C announced

saw this today on Anderton's site. compared to the SL5, it loses the 12" speaker, but gains an effects loop.

Re: Some select Gibson Porn

The lemon burst is beautiful, but I love those Les Paul Florentines. there are two for sale at Andertons at the minute, and if I had even a sniff of having the cash just now, one of them would be coming to my house!

Re: Fernandes Sustainer

Oh, the only thing about it is that it only works with the bridge pickup, which must be a humbucker. I have seen a custom built guitar with the sustainer system installed along with the guts of a Line 6 Variax, so the magnetic pickups drove the strings, but the actual sounds were coming from the var...

Re: Fernandes Sustainer

I have one in a Fernandes Super strat, mine is the single coil sized version. It does replace your neck pickup, but it does work as a pickup too. I wouldn't say it's the best pickup in the world, but it produces a decent enough tone. The sustainer function is quite brilliant though. you can have inf...
