Hi I tried the 1974cx extension box with my 1974x and AB ed it with my Palmer 1x12 loaded with a CreamAlnico. I was a bit disappointed - the 1974cx was not a big improvement and the palmer with the CreamAlnico just blew it away. It was more round and had more bottom so added "all" goodies to the sou...
yes I read your postings and I was thinking for the 1974cx funny enough the cloth was also different but otherway round.
the offer was the pinstripe type.
And I had already the palmer and the cream alnico 90.
But congrats to the little stack.
Hi
I was flipping between buying a 1974CX cab or MR 1936 w 2 G12H30 Heritage. I took the 1936
and so we have a 1x12 palmer as extension for 1974x sporting a Celestion CREAM ALINCO 90.
The combination is crazy, also sound wise - just gorgeous!
Hi, actually i took a cordless drill with me,too and popped off one handle to check the wood...
at home I removed the back and had a detail view and ... I liked what I saw!

Hi I do have a Celestion Cream Alnico, too (in a 1x12 cab) for my friedman runt20 head. the blue ( or gold ) preferred. the blue wd be my onboard speaker for home or rehearsal situations. Live paired with 1x12 cream if needed! ruby reads perfect as stronger cousin of blue BUT, the ruby sounds to be ...
Hi
who did a speaker swap in his 1974x ? I am thinking of a Blue or some of the alnico family.
the combo is very tight and the greenback magnet almost hits the tube cage <= 5mm room.
any experience, I saw a picture were a blue was fitted with bell taken off.
Hi I was shopping and wanted to check the Combo SV20. I checked the SV20C (SL) , SC20C (jcm800) and a 1974X in a shoot out with my Strat 59 CS. I like the look and the idea of the SV20C BUT... the SC20 C was very good sounding even with the 10" speaker. the SV20C was really disappointing ! it was ha...
Hi I did it ... actually I was shopping for the Marshall Studio Vintage Combo or Top. By chance the shop had a 1974x fresh in from a collector. What to say a AB was telling me instandly what I really was looking for. I fell at once and the tone was so sweet and pure. I needed that amp. and the price...
Hi I had a chance to check another Origin 20C. this was really good. Despite of others I saw no flaws in tolex and no death rattle tubes. I did like it at once. Ok needed some tweaks and the tilt and presence are doing an excellent job, the eq knobs are a doing hearable changes to the sound. The spe...
Well I had a 1987 50 Watt from early 70ties - I was such dumb to sell it 30 years ago...oh man!! anyways ... I can say the 20H does a good job,at least for my ears. A real old 1987 is the rocking PLEXI , the JTM45 the PLEXI: they are legendary. Would be cool to compare Origin50 vs a new 1987x ! Summ...
Hi all I had a chance to check origin 20H and and a origin5c today. The 5C was disappointing for me. It sounded not pleasant, kinda boxic... I guess it is the speaker - the Class5-C was better with a 10er, but this 8er ??? needs maybe break-in. I guess a origin 5H with a 1-12 cab - this wd be a game...
