Re: MA Soundclips

Outstanding clip of that amp in action! Great song too!

Was it hard swapping out that piping...been debating on doing that myself. Any tips or lessons learned while you did it? Or is it just simply push it into place type stuff?

RP350 as mp3/cd-in?

Hi there, Just a quick...somewhat silly question I guess. I am often play in my house, but like to jam to songs as I play. I have an ol' Digitech RP350 just collecting dust...what I want to know is could I possibly just plug it in my effects loop on my MA100H to just merely use the cd-in so that way...

Re: Disassembly and Retubing

Yeah Neb I bought those separately. They were a $1.95 each, and the retainer rings for another $.30 each, so much more reliable imo. Also, on one of those shots you'll notice I have my red lead attached to that top pin. It's worth note, the LEFT Trim pot correlates to that top pin I have my red lead...

Re: Class 5 Fix & Version 2.0

*bump* This is the thread that should be stickied imho...it simply covers all that is needed to shut this stupid rattle up. This amp is sooo simple to fix after reading this thread, not to mention the fixes actually work. If people would just hit the "I believe" button and quit banging their heads a...

Re: CLASS 5 BAD RATTLES

just read the version 2.0 and fix thread....buy the amp, do the simple fixes (not covered in their silly fix pdf)....this amp is simply killer especially if you take the time and spend an extra $25 and fix it. It's just too easy to throw some weather stripping, and a tube retainer in there. Seriousl...

Re: Disassembly and Retubing

Well guys....a great success!! My first time BIASing and it worked great. Took the proper safety precautions, followed your instructions on dissassembly and voila. Got my new =C= EL34's in there and wow this thing came to life, much much tighter now. Brighter and just overall more clear. Anyways, I ...

Marshall MA settings

Just curious what everyone out there has had success with in dialing in these amps. I am still knob fiddling, mostly with the gain and crunch ones, lol. But please if you don't mind could some folks that have gotten some of their amps dialed in share their settings? Maybe some sound clips? Thanks, D...

Re: Disassembly and Retubing

How do I measure the plate voltage again? Don't I touch off of pin 3 for that, I read it somewhere, just can't remember where...

Otherwise great explanation and everything makes perfect sense, thanks a ton!

Thanks

Re: Disassembly and Retubing

Wow, thanks Steve! Perfect explanation... However, why the 76mVDC? Is that a recommended/default setting? Is that calculated from the plate voltage? I know I have read 70% is what Marshall recommends...How do I calculate that 70%? I just know I have read this amp is typically biased cold from the fa...

Re: Disassembly and Retubing

Thanks man much appreciated... Just seeing pics of where to adjust, what to adjust, what pin to measure off of on this particular amp would be great... There is absolutely nothing on the internet :bang

Disassembly and Retubing

Don't suppose anyone could post some pics of where the trim pots are located on an MA100 head could they? Steps involved in removing the amp from the cabinet? I've done so much reading on biasing my own amp and have an electrical job in the military...so I feel fairly confident in doing this myself....

Re: Well done MA!

Amen, bout time this amp is getting some respect.

I own the MA100H and cab. Switched out my preamp valves to get a nice tonestack going and I simply love this amp. Definitely underrated.

So grats!

Re: Gonna Buy A Class 5-Real Quick Question

Yeah, I forgot to mention those tube dampeners...pretty simple really. I stopped by Autozone and picked up some high temp O-rings...did the trick quick nicely. So...all in all...Weather stripping was $5, O-rings $2, Belton Tube retainer $2 plus shipping=$8, TAD EL84 $14....Grand Total= $31 and I hav...
