Gibson Les Paul Traditional 12 String

Hi all, Just clocked these bad boys online and almost fancy taking the plunge. Anybody any experience with 12 strings other than the EDS-1275 or Les Paul Traditionals. I think this looks promising, although a bit strange with the elongated headstock. Gibson Les Paul Traditional 12 String Regards Mark

Re: 2012 Gibson Les Paul Standard

That is one beautiful piece of 'Lester'. I am itching for another and 2012 may be the year, especially with the push/pull pots and other news additions. Not sure about the weight relief though, but will be trying before buying.

RIP Dr Jim. A very, very sad day for music. A pioneer of Rock and Roll, who's name will live on forever through the amplification that bears it.

Re: VM and Boss GT10

Burner, I operate exactly the same rig and did experience a similar problem initially. The GT-10 does sound great with the VM, but will take a lot of tweaking from the standard patches to get the sound you are looking for. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the outcome/combination. I found that mo...

Re: New BOSS pedal, looks very useful

I used to own (many years back) the BOSS DF-2 Super Distortion Feedbacker, and what I will say is if the new pedal is anything like the DF-2 then there may well be some mileage in adding it to the list of kit. This does seem rather similar to the old DF-2, which are now going for £100+ in the UK. DF...

Re: Another mystery Marshall for the experts!

Hi there,

It looks to be a 1960's Marshall Master Lead Combo, which I think came in at 60W and was a solid state affair. Not very popular by all accounts, but certainly sought after these days.

Re: The Godfather Theme - Slash's Shrediest Version

Hi there, I have to agree. I have got the Made in Stoke DVD and Slash has really upped his game I think, but still keeps that soulful sound in the tracks that need it. The AFDs in the DVD sure do sound the part! Overall I was most impressed, especially if you compared his solo work to that in the 19...

Hi there, I am in the process of doing exactly the same thing and have startup doing some 3D modelling prior to the build. I am not sure which design to go for but will more than likely make it from pine or 1" MDF. Small Desk.jpg Small Desk1.jpg Small Desk2.jpg Studio Desk Plan.jpg Studio Desk Plan1...

Re: Just Got the New Slash Signature Pickups!!! :)

Slashwannabe, Glad you are pleased with your new SD pickups. I totally agree with your comments and think they are great, with increased sustain and mids that bring you that much closer to the sound of the man himself. I also recently had my guitar setup by a top notch guitar tech and oh my god what...

Re: Who influenced you on your guitar choice?

Hi all,

Influences are Jimmy Page, Gary Moore and Slash for the most part. There was no other choice of guitar other than the mightly Gibson Les Paul to be honest. After playing one for so long now, I couldn't see myself with anything else.

Re: home recording

Yellow Stone, It would be worth you looking into some software called Reaper 3 by Cockos software. It was not long voted the No. 1 DAW software by SOS (Sound on Sound), a top UK magazine about music recording and production. The SOS website is awesome with reviews, hints, tips, demos and interviews ...
