Re: Dunlop 6100/6105 frets on Gibson SG Standard ?

I love the big fat frets, screw those little cracks. I would bet that plays much better now then stock. I think it came out great. Same, big frets make everything a whole lot nicer. Permitting you don't ham hand and sharp the notes. Never been tempted to try 6000 yet though as I see no point. Names...

As above, you can occasionally find used G&Ls (USA) for about 500. I wouldn't pass them up, good shit.

Re: New Gibson Les Paul prototype: "Less Paul"

I like it, looks like it could be comfy as hell. I realize a lot of the old guard is going to whine, but guitars that make steps forward ergonomically are generally a hell of a lot nicer to play. Ever sit down with a bongo bass? Damn, they are easily the most comfortable bass I have ever come across.

Like the colour a whole bunch, and that the back was left natural. Don't do LP's though.

Re: Volume pedals...

No clue, both are near identical to method though (both passive 250k pots). Dunlop is band driven, EB is string driven, and has replacement kits if need be (they occasionally snap). EB has a switch that allows 2 swell patterns, but any volume pedal will do a swell just fine, just like your volume kn...

Re: Single best piece of gear purchased this calander year

No big purchases I made this year, as my custom 7 went right back to the builder like the piece of crap it was.

So I guess it is a Blue Sky Reverb, that pedal is fantastic and stands above all acquisitions this year.

Re: Are you a brand only buyer?

I am not a brand buyer. I think it is a huge mistake to close your eyes to the entire market in any case. Brand loyalty is just praised ignorance. No one guitar or company provides everything.

Re: Volume pedals...

I would go for an EB passive one, as I don't need more juice flowing through my board. It is going to function exactly like your volume knob as it is bufferless and changing the capacitance of what is going on however.

Re: ProGuitarShop.com - FIRST CLASS!

Wow, that is rather ridiculous on them, seeing as you had bought it a ways prior (or at all prior). Quite the balls effectively asking for a discount after the fact though.

Re: VM still kickin ass, crank this one.

Very good Surf, you nailed the feel for all but one thing, the bass is far too back seat. Needs more presence to really nail the Top feel, some punch.

Re: New Lindy Fralin Split-Blade vs SD Hot Rails????

Most people talking about single coil humbuckers, in my experience, are dealing with Dimarzios. That is all I can contribute here, but they seem to have some of the better ones.

if only eh? That only work for folks who can't play, and maybe your typical blues guitarist (who can likely be easily lumped in with can't play :tounge )

Hopefully that picks up for you Kissfan, I am writing my thesis as we speak, hoping I don't end up in the same straits. Not a law degree here there. Just take your time with setups until you get a good feel for them, they are really really easy. I had the fortunate effect of having to learn or do wi...

The only ID I can think of, and I might be off, doesn't fender stamp their neck pockets with info? Catch is getting the dude to let you remove the neck.
