Re: Hot deal on Overdrive / Boost pedal

To the maker of the klon's defense, he never sold them for that outrageous price. Its just people trying to capitalize on the market. He is supposedly making another reissue with slight updates but I'm sure it will still be expensive.

Re: Hot deal on Overdrive / Boost pedal

you're just discovering this now? What about landgraff dynamic overdrive and rockbox boiling point? Both are ts9/808 clones with mods done to them... I guess it would be fine but they try and spin it as original designs and rip off the unknowing consumer. Assholes.

Re: Ibanez FL9 from the 80's Japan

I like the pedal, I think it sounds really warm and has nice analog tones to it. My is a reissue but I modded it myself so it sounds even better. You can't go wrong with it though.

Doesn't seem like it's on the market yet but I'm interested to hear more. From what I can see the build and design is stellar.

Decimator all the way!!! I don't think highly of the vast majority of boss pedals.

Re: MkI vs. MkII?

I just bought another class 5, this time it was a custom limited edition sold currently at Musician's Friend. The specs say it has all plywood construction. Is this true or a typo? I don't have it yet so I can't compare the weight to the original. Have they all been constructed out of plywood or is ...

I don't care how people choose to phrase things, I was just adding credibility to some of his mods.

Re: Lets upgrade those Transformers! Mod 12

I agree, from an electrical engineering standpoint there is a distinct difference between cheap and expensive components. I laugh every time I see kits online for pedals where the parts that make up the whole are crap - although it's hard for the average joe to distinguish between the two. Orpheus i...

Re: New TC Tone Print app for iPhone, very cool

downloaded it but have yet to try it with my HOF, I'm sure it will be really cool changing tone print on the fly. Hopefully I won't have to update the pedals firmware. I read somewhere that someone had to do that.

Re: Class 5 through a 4x12?

The el84M tube is a good choice for raising the clean headroom, and you may also want to try using a 12au7 (gain 70) instead of the stock 12ax7 (gain 100).

Re: Dunlop power Brick

Yes that's correct, if you want to be assured no hum then isolated toroidal transformers is what to look for in those power bricks by different manufacturers. That said I also just use a one spot and have had great success with that although I split up the power using several other different adapter...
