Re: JTM45 20w/5w

Well my new JTM Studio arrived Wednesday afternoon. I am very impressed with the amp. It has plenty of bottom-end and fullness. Good cleans, the volume is very manageable, and it has a nice edge of breakup sound without being too loud. It takes all of my pedals well. The Creamback sounds great in t...

I recently picked up a Dr. Z Carmen Ghia and it has become my main amp.
So simple, but it sounds great. Takes pedals very well.
I agree thats what I also like less knobs to deal with! Set it and forget it.
The Carmen Ghia is legendary congratulations.

Re: Dr Z Maz18

I been using his amps off an on for the last 23 years I have had several of his amps the Maz jr is more of a fender/vox/marshall combo. I currently have the Z-28MK11 combo it is housed in the Z-master cabinet it is imho his best amp he ever made. Its like an old Fender and an old marshall. It has a ...

Re: NGD... Just had to have it

Nice Surf Im a sucker for white guitars. I have a White Suhr Classic S with a roasted maple neck on order from Humbucker.
I still have my 2 Hendrix Strats from the 90's so this will be a step up for me.

Re: Spark Amp

I bought this amp for my Sons 21 birthday. Its a great little tool for learning songs and jamming along to tracks. It's a great little amp. When you think back about how most of us older guys had to learn guitar its amazing now with technology how much easier it is for someone to learn guitar. I ev...

Re: Vintage Stratocasters'

I think the year to year thing is bullshit, to me what really matters the most is the piece of wood your Strat is made out of, I have owned $4000 Custom shop Strats, but yet my $2000 Strat sound better. As always its best to play as many as you can both plugged in and not plugged in. Some Strats ju...

Re: 4-cable method players

Hey Surf Thats interesting. I am currently using the 4 cable method running my pedal board with my three pedals and the boss gt1000 core Into the Marshall SV20C. I never ever used the effects loop on any amp I have ever owned i would always just run my effects into the front of the amp. But with the...

Re: Moving Again

Congratulations on your Retirement Surf! My parents live in Bonita Springs Fla. The storms are an issue though. They used to come to Ca to visit every year when the storms come. My Dad is battling cancer and is in a wheel chair now so they have not been able to visit. The fishing is good so you will...

Re: Boss Gt 1000 Core

That demo shows it is a great multi tool... but how good is it at doing plexi tones? The Marshall Plexi tones that are preset in the unit had to much high end or maybe brightness for me and I only use single coils so I pretty much made my own that really sound great. I saw this video and copied som...
