Re: About time for a favourite settings sticky...

Hi Marshall lovers.. Well I've had my VM2466 for around 14 months now.. and I love it .. best settings for me are in LDR.. everything else at 10 .. detail in the vicinity of 1-2 and body at 12 .. My band LEADFOOT play mostly 70s classic rock and southern style rock (Allman Bros. and Lynyrd Skynyrd) ...

Re: VM2466 head and cab STAND?

I'm usually pretty ok with that Frank ..I have Kinmans on my strat which are great!.. and Pearly Gates on my LPs.. which are fairly quiet considering the gains I use.. :bgrin

'cos I'm still having issues with the sound onstage projecting right between my legs.. with me sometimes struggling to hear it. clearly. (loud drummer) .. I'd like to get my 1960 BX tilt...

Re: plexidrive

2 hundred bucks isnt expensive ..and dont get me wrong IMO the tone of the VM is excellent! ..and is my last amp.. but I like having that over the top drive late at night that you cant get at 3 am volumes with a 2466 ..
..each to their own.. :)

Re: plexidrive

yep ..the amount of money I've spent - sigh- ... IMO the beauty of this pedal is that it compliments the VM perfectly.. so that I dont feel that the warmth.. clarity ..and then the JTM crunch and chime of the VM is comprimised.. this is a great pedal for the VM at lower amp volumes..

Re: plexidrive

:) ..I'm in Australia so getting pedals from Mr. Wampler is a little more convoluted.. ;) ..I received my plexidrive yesterday ..and it sounds great.. not in any way 'opampie' like a tube screamer.. the ' plexi ' tone of the pedal is very accurate and to my ears sounds best when used with a strat.. ...

Re: plexidrive

yep the pinnacle supposed to be a good one as well.. from research I've done.. the pinnacle is supposed to cover overdriven JCM type tone.. and the plexidrive is supposed to cover the JTM.. the thing that attracts me to the the pedal is that it uses staged JFETs instead of opamps to achieve the driv...
