240V Dagnall Transformer for 1-watt amp

Hi all. Long time no see. I hope all are well. I have a 240V Dagnall transformer suitable for a 1-watt Marshall amp. It came on my Andertons 1W Marshall reissue amp and it is a spare because I swapped it out for a 120V transformer for use in the US. The 240V transformer was almost never used. I pres...

Re: How many US citizens belive in their government, overall

If I really spoke my mind here, I'd make a lot of enemies, so I'll try to be brief and non-confrontational. A few points: I generally believe that civil servants (the people that run the government) try to do the right thing. I generally believe they do a good job. I generally trust my government an...

Re: Slash's home for sale

A friend of mine had a client whose pre-nup started giving more to the wife at like 5 years of marriage and the guy determined it wasn't worth it to him to stay married so he divorced her before the 5-year mark came. That's pretty matter-of-fact.

Re: Slash's home for sale

Yeah, they must have paid a crapload of dough to do it in such bad girl/rock n' roll style. All of it going down the drain when the next owner moves in. He married her well after GN'R but he's got no pre-nup. I wonder how much of his money comes from new stuff (e.g., Motorola sponsor/image licensing...

Slash's home for sale

I saw a stupid news item about Slash being a fan of the New England Patriots (false--it's his sons who are fans) and I found out that his home is for sale. Not surprisingly, it is gigantic. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3128948/Sweet-home-o-Slash-sale-Guns-N-Roses-frontman-lists-luxury-Bev...

Yeah, that R9 is gorgeous. If there's one color combo to get, that's the one!

Re: Slash concert in Stockholm!

Gtrman, when I saw him in NYC a few weeks ago, his solo on Rocket Queen was over 10 minutes long. Way too long.

Re: RIP Mr B.B. King

One of the few guitar players that all of us can agree on. I, too, love "Live at the Regal". I also love the long version of "Goin' Down Slow", the first track on disc 2 of this 4-disc "King of the Blues" set from the early 1990s. I love the storytelling. What a great artist and an inspiration to al...

Re: Beneath the savage sun - slash's new single

Thanks for sharing, Sully. I liked the song before I knew what it was about. It indeed makes more sense now. I saw :slash play on Thursday, May 7. His playing was in top form. To anyone on this forum who can get to see him on this tour, I suggest you do so. As you know, Myles Kennedy does a pretty g...

Re: SRV string breaks, finishes solo, sings, swaps guitar

Not to demean SRV, I think he's a badass, but I think there's something a little off with that video. The sound and the video are in sync throughout, but when SRV starts playing again after the guitar switch, the guitar starts about 1 second before SRV's left hand is down at the base of the neck to ...

Re: Dinner last night

Blues' quote reminded of favorite Simpsons quote. Here's an excerpt from the episode description. "Grappling with the pickle jar, Mr. Burns finds himself too weak to open it. Smithers volunteers, but has just as much luck. Smithers: It's no use, sir. Shall I send out for some Chinese? Burns: No, tho...

Re: First NEWS from Frankfurt

Congrats, SteveD, these look really great. Thanks for all of your work on them. Really seems like something different from Marshall. I'm sure they'll sound amazing. I love my 2266 most of all and it's a KT66 beast. So kudos for KT66s in the power stage. In many ways these amps seem so *different* fr...
