Re: SteveD Return Visit to Marshall (Video)

I have two Class 5 combos, the second of which I bought for the power reduction feature.

That's the amp I've used the most in recent years. Thanks, Steve!

Re: Origin 50

I've gotten the Origin 50w head, mostly for the attenuation feature. The neighbors...I have a 1987X that I run through the slant Hendrix cabinet. The Origin doesn't get too close to that setup. But that's an unfair comparison, the Origin sounds good, especially the cleaner range (I know, that's not ...

Re: One Can Never Have Too Many Astorias

I hope this question does not constitute hijacking your--I love that room and the great photo of your terrific gear--but any brief comments on how you soundproofed the room? Back on point, your Astorias are really fine. I've looked for a Dual online and can't find a new one anywhere (USA). Last ques...

Re: Farewell Gregg Allman.

Have you been to the Big House? I think I've seen picture of some Fender there. They got good tone on those first two (studio) albums, with some blooming feedback from DA on the first one, but I don't know what amps they used. I've heard small Fenders. For me a piece of what makes At Fillmore East g...

Re: Farewell Gregg Allman.

The original lineup is my favorite band, and Gregg Allman my favorite singer, for all these years. Its good he was productive in his later years--including releasing the solo album Low Country Blues, telling his story in his memoir, performing the Needle and the Damage Done at Clapton's Crossroads, ...

Re: CODE Firmware Update

Eric Johnson lead tone, so mid to late 60's plexi with BK Butler Tube Driver. There is a track on a live record released as Alien Love Child called Rain with a lead break that really does sound like a huge electric cello. Of course they can't model his hands. Robin Trower Bridge of Sighs tone with (...

Re: CODE 25 as Reaper Audio Interface

Thanks for the responses and helpful information. This has always been the best forum. Great founder, great members. One of the audio systems preferences Reaper offers, besides ASIO, is WaveOut. I have no idea what that is, but it recognized CODE and I was able to record to Reaper through CODE's USB...

CODE 25 as Reaper Audio Interface

I've just gotten a CODE 25. I'm still playing, i.e., fooling around, with it. I want to use it as a DAW interface with Reaper, but Reaper doesn't see it (Reaper does see my Audiobox). I set it as a recording source in Windows but have gotten no farther. Is it AISO or something else? I have only the ...

Re: I'd Love to Change the World

Recorded Live is mine. The first chord is sustained Marshall grind blooming into feedback and there's thick ES335 tone throughout. A lifelong Marshall player, Alvin Lee.

Re: JMP1 - Alnico Blue - Bluesbreaker pedal

It all sounds good. What is the setting on the BB2 in the second part? I really like the darker, smoother half, and I have this amp and this pedal. Don't have those chops though.

Re: 100JH Hum & Background Noise

I spoke too soon on my prior post. I realized that besides the mild authentic hum that these are known for, when switched on (standBy off), one of my JH's had a lot more buzz than the other. I forgot about this thread and PM'd SteveD, and he advised the same thing listed earlier. The culprit was th...
