Re: Convert LDR to 2203 and HDR to Hi-Gain 2203

It just sound muddy like every Plexi JTM actually. Nothing wrong with the amp, valves are good and bias is where he is belong. I remembered the same sound in 2007 when they was brand new. It's not a brightness issue either. I already changed things, it's better, but not the exact result I've wanted...

Marshall Vintage Modern max volume!

I really got tired of all the sissies on the Marshall VM facebook page complaining that the 2466 100 watt Marshall Vintage Modern isn't a loud amp because they have to "turn it up higher on the volume" vs whatever amp they're comparing it to...they literally don't understand that the taper of the Ma...

Re: 2007 2466 Vintage Modern Low/High Range switch issue

The fact that it works fine with the amp's button indicates to me that you need a new footswitch. 13 to 14 years of getting stamped on has to take it's toll :winking DSLs etc all use latching footswitches. The 2466 uses a momentary type for changing the range. But latching for toggling Reverb. The ...

2007 2466 Vintage Modern Low/High Range switch issue

Hi, I've been a longtime VM 2466 100 Watt owner since it was pretty much new, and I'm experiencing an issue where I have to double tap the foot switch to switch dynamic ranges, which can be pretty nerve inducing when you have to find the switch on a dark stage and waste further time trying to double...

What I have found through many years of chasing amps is I just like the 100 watt stuff.
I completely agree, even if I'm not using the entire 100 watts, it just sounds better to me, more articulate and more definition.

Re: Marshall 2555X Silver Jubilee 100W Discontinued

It was told to me from Marshall that the orders back then just didn't come in, there just was not the demand for 100 watt stacks. However they said if a retailer in the future were to make a order for them they would supply. Sweetwater obviously made that order. I feel like the marketing wasn't tha...

Re: Marshall 2555X Silver Jubilee 100W Discontinued

Are these really discontinued? Long & McQuade's in Canada has a few 100W heads and 4x12 cabs in stock and projected 2022 arrival dates for the 2x12… As a previous poster stated, I assumed this early discontinuation was just the North American markets. Currently, the stock there could be old stock? ...

Re: Got a Brand New Full Stack 2555x Jubilee!!!

Looks amazing, @Slashwannabe1 and nice to see you back, though I'm a little late. I remember you in the early days of this forum. I’ve been playing a Mesa Electra Dyne head and various Mesa cabs for the past few years, but have been looking at getting a Jubilee half-stack or other Marshall in the n...

Re: Vintage Modern - Steve's Gain Mod

I would rather not use the HDR as a default setting, I find the additional noise a bit unsettling Honestly you need a Power Conditioner, Morley Hum Eliminator and a Boss NS-2, employ all 3 of these at the same time and you'll never have problems with a noisy amp, My active PA speakers have a noisie...

Re: Vintage Modern - Low/High range background noise

Hi guys, I have been away from amplifying my guitar for a while, but recently have started a classic rock practicing band (just for fun, we're not good enough to gig yet). I like using the Low Dynamic range with the Mid boost, but with the band, I think I need a bit more drive for lead guitar stuff...

Silver Jubilee does "The Darkness"

About 2 weeks ago my "band" had their first show and due to my drummer and rhythm guitarist being exposed to someone who had covid they couldn't do the show, however the show must go on and you can't cancel your first gig so the singer and I decided to do it and use backing tracks, obviously not an ...

Re: Will the Hotmod V2 work with the 2466 VM?

I got a definitive reply from the company if anyone is interested in the answer to this :) Hi Josh, "Thank you for reaching out and for your interest. The VM May be marketed that way but it’s circuitry actually does not share much in common with the classic amps. For example, the famous Marshall amp...
