Has it been that long?

Huh... Not much activity in the Astoria section. Work and life got in the way so that I don't gig much anymore. Interesting though that with everything going on, I pretty much only use my PRS DG stoptail and my two Astoria's. Though I haven't gotten rid of anything yet, with all the amps I have, her...

Re: Astoria Dual - first gig

Hi Sigi,

Been awhile since I've checked in. Small gigs, big gigs... I haven't played anything but the dual for over a year and a half. Glad you're liking yours!

Re: Radio waves when fx loop on

Hi Dooku, I just want to understand what you mean by "loud radio waves". We may be getting something lost in translation (don't worry, your English is way better than my French!!) Are you actually hearing a radio station coming out of your speakers? Or are you hearing static that might sound like a ...

I agree with TM1. It'd be great to see what's what just to understand it.

Re: What are you guys getting your wives or girlfriends for Christmas?

I'll never be able to articulate the female point of view as eloquently as Papus. Having said that, I find that jewelry and trips to exotic locales work wonders. This year, it's jewelry alone. We just got a place on the water, which pretty much negated the need for an exotic trip. Man, I Iove Maryla...

Re: 2016 Gear

I got the Astoria Dual and Custom. After that, I can't see myself getting anything else. No point really. I've toyed with the idea of a Kemper, but I'd just go and profile the Astorias, so doesn't seem like much of a point to that.

Re: 1962 HW being discontinued?

To me, the issue is who is at the helm. If it's not somebody who is passionate about the product, it's just a matter of time.... Say what you want about PRS, but to me, this is the difference between corporate schlock and something that people will get behind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHtpyZNC...

Re: JTM45 or 2061X

Actually, yes. In fact, the 2061x is the exact type of amp that the unleash works best with in my opinion. I've said it before, but to me, the Unleash works best when used as a re-amper. Which has always surprised me because the attenuator takes the amp output down to line level before re-amping thr...

Re: JTM45 or 2061X

I have several JTM45 variants as well as the 2061x. In my opinion, from what you describe, you won't be satisfied with the 2061x's clean headroom. It's a very loud amp, but even at middling volumes it breaks up somewhat. That's not to say that the amp doesn't take pedals well. It does. But you won't...

Re: 1963 Marshall JTM45 at FULL VOLUME

Just my opinion.... I've played several vintage JTM45's, have modern hand-wired versions (the awesome offset 35th anniversary is my favorite), and in my opinion, the 2466 in LDR on balance is better. I love the vintage stuff for what it is, and what it represents, and it's a ton of fun to play them ...

Re: The "that guy" thread

That guy who shows up with his 50 lb. "Kurt Cobain wannabe" pedalboard, loaded with every TGP approved "flavor of the month" stomp box, who rolls his eye when he sees you're using a TC G Force w/MIDI switcher...like you're the one who's the douche. ... Maybe I'm not a douche. My pedal board is quit...

Re: Suggest Me A Marshall?

Definitely will second the 2061x opinion. It's a head though. The 1974x is more or less the combo version, but to me live in person, they are rather different for whatever reason, and I definitely prefer the 2061x for the tones in the videos above. Or a crazy thought would be to get a used deluxe an...
