Re: Good article on attenuators vs power scaling

I have a Suhr Badger 18 with Suhr's power scaling. I am very satisfied with it. Doesn't seem to suck the tone at all and it is infinitely adjustable so you can find the sweet spot where it is still loud enough but not too loud. I need a good 2X12 cab for it. I'm running it through my Marshall 1960BX...

Re: One Inch Man

Strong Alice in Chains vibe. I like it. Needed somebody singing the harmony in a minor third it would have sounded just like AIC.

Re: Has the Class 5 really been discontinued??

I've got the combo and the head.... I play the combo at small gigs, but I don't use the head as much, I have a Suhr badger 18 that gets the nod on that. I would like to see something in a low watt offering though. 20 watts is about my max these days. I played a 2205 for years and I have some hearing...

Re: Conan and Slash go Guitar Shopping

When I saw that I was thinking man, they should have found somebody selling a Slash amp or a Slash Les Paul and then showed up with Slash. These people didn't have any idea who he was. It would have been better if it was Slash gear. I'm pretty sure in the LA Craigslist there is something with Slash'...

Re: Prince dead at 57

I saw him in Atlanta at the Fox theatre around 93 or 94. I took two girls to the show. They were both hot as fook and they both said they'd be happy to go backstage and do anything he wanted after the show. He really was a panty dropper. Lucky for me he wasn't available and so they had to settle for...

Re: New Astoria Custom Owner!!

Muley! dude. I was looking at that amp too. You beat me to the punch. Congratulations! I'm not too far away. Are you giving test drives?

I'll bring my Suhr Badger and my 1960 BX cab with English Greenbacks. And a couple of cool Les Pauls.

Re: Corksniffing Gear

Did they let you play the amps? I'd be sporting wood! don't care for the Murphy aged guitar. I've got a gold top that is just starting to check naturally. That just doesn't look natural to me. Don't want to hate on Murphy, but it looks a little too contrived. Freaking love the amps though. Hope they...

I'd love to try that. I'm trying to buy an Astoria though so that might slow me down. Same designer of the Class 5.

Re: The Ridiculously Thorough Guide to the Marshall Class 5

Very good review and I totally agree. I'm surprised at how similar our experience is with this amp. Although I haven't played as many shows as you have And I record it but I'm not putting out an album. I still have both the head and the combo. I play the combo in a church band. I have it on about 3....

I saw this show in Atlanta. We got tickets on Eddies side of the stage about 3 rows from the front. Tried not to look at Dave too much.

Re: GAS!!!!!

Ha! I spent today trying to figure out how to get a new Astoria funded. I'm selling my Suhr Badger 18 and a few other things. I might have to part with one of my guns. Either way, sometime very soon I'm getting an Astoria. I just hope it sounds good with my 1960 BX with English greenbacks. :Cheers
