Re: Look at what just arrived

Can't get the old solder hot enough with my iron which is annoying... Don't apply heat to the pot for too long as it can fry and be bygone. Happened to me once. You can try sanding the old solder a bit to get rid of any dirt and oils for better heat conductivity. I've had those pickups in my Goldto...

NPD! Pigtronix Quantum Time Modulator and Morley PVO+

As I seem to be moving towards the prog rock playing, I felt the need to buy a volume pedal and a chorus/flanger. I haven't yet played around with these too much because of christmas and other things. With volume pedals I settled to Morley PVO+ optical volume pedal after looking through some other o...

Increasesing chops

I'm trying to increase my playing speed, accuracy etc. and I am progressing, but I would like some opinions, tips and tricks on this subject. I'm not really into guitar shredding music (overall metal), hence I haven't trained that aspect, but now I'd like to practice it so I can do it and use in my ...

Back to the roots

Lately I have developed more of techniques like picking and using arpeggios and such on guitar. I have listened new music and also being playing (or trying to play) more odd music styles for me (jazz, funk...) All good, right? But I have noticed that my soloing has become more... I don't know the ri...

Re: Top wrappers here?

If you're talking about the pics in first post, those were images I found with google. I don't know whose guitar it is. All I'm saying is there is no reason for your strings to hit the screws on your bridge. If it's a Nashville then the screws are set lower on the bridge and are more flush hence, t...

Re: Top wrappers here?

Your bridge is around the wrong way,,,,that's why your strings are hitting the screws. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v165/Leidolfr/Gibson%20LP%20Classic/DSC_4450.jpg Only the Nashville's screws face towards the tail piece, and that ain't a Nashville. Peace If you're talking about the pics in fi...

Re: Top wrappers here?

I changed strings today using top wrapping. Right away I noticed the different feel this setup makes. Weird after couple of years using the regular one on this guitar...

Let's see how it feels after a week or so.

Re: Help needed with using volume knob.....

I recommend trying 50's wiring first. It's free of cost and easy to do. Then if it doesn't work out, try treble bleed.

Re: Help needed with using volume knob.....

Yep, treble bleed mod or 50's wiring should solve that. I have used both and changed back and forth between them. I've been settled to 50's wiring for a quite a while now. My guitar is a Les Paul with SD Alnico II Pro Slash -pickups and 500k CTS pots. I used the treble bleed in a pic below and it wo...

Re: Rush fans?

I recommend for anyone to listen their 2007 album "Snakes & Arrows". I think it's their best post-Moving Pictures album. Back to more guitar oriented songs and overall feel is more thick and mean sounding than any album before. Also they are just releasing Vapor Trails Remixed. Geddy states: “Vapor ...

Re: Catalinbread Belle Epoch - Echoplex in a pedal

Arrived just now. :whoo After a short test run this pedal sounds really cool! I don't know what but it did something to my tone. Something good. That's the EP-3 pre-amp? I have to sit down and explore more when I get the time for it. I put it in the loop now, but next time I'll test it out on front ...

Re: Top wrappers here?

Steve P, I thought about changing to the ABR-1 bridge too, but then discovered it needs to be installed differently. The one you posted doesn't need any changes so thanks for posting that. Before I think more about the ABR-bridge I will test this wrapping before. Unfortunately I just changed strings...

Top wrappers here?

I just noticed on my Gibson Les Paul Traditional that some of my strings were resting on the back of the bridge. Now I just raised the stopbar a little so the "problem" is solved. While searching information on this bridge thingy, I got interested in top wrapping the next time I change strings. Some...

Re: Catalinbread Belle Epoch - Echoplex in a pedal

Btw. I sold my TC Electronic Flashback for this. Flashback is a great delay with a lot of variety available but I think that I can do more with just "one" delay, like Belle Epoch. Just straight forward tone and not so much tinkering needed... I have found just a few reviews of this pedal. Has someon...
