Re: Loss of volume after retube

Thanks for your help, guys! I found out what the problem was! I had an Ecc82 in V2 for less gain on the OD channel and the tech swapped it for the V1. Having a Ecc82 in V1 was taking some of the power away but now everything is fixed and the JJ in the power sound amazing! A little less brittle and m...

Loss of volume after retube

I had my MA50C retubed and rebiased. Put a pair of matched JJ and Lost a lot of volume! I used to gigi with it with the volume on 7 or 8 on the OD channel and with it at 6 on the clean channel. Noew to match the same sound pressure I have to run it at 9 on the od channel and at 8 on the clean channe...

Re: Some live tunes with the MA50c

And I forgot to mention the CB is cranked too. I was aiming for a plexi kind of sound on the normal od and jcm800 with the boost engaged. Since I always run the amp pretty loud there's not much of a volume difference. And even if there was, the rest of the band usually plays louder when more gain is...

Re: Some live tunes with the MA50c

It's all stock. Just loud as f***. I run a pretty large pedal board trough it. But everything is pretty transparent, apart from a mild mid bump, courtesy of a MXR 10 band eq. The controls on the amp are: Bass, mid and treble full on, gain at about 10 o'clock, depth at 2 o'clock and presence at noon....

Some live tunes with the MA50c

Hello everybody! I played in a club the other night and the singer's girlfriend recorded a part of the show and I think the guitar sound was prettey good. I suppose people bash this amp so much 'cause they don't play it loud enough... Sounds good for me. What do you think? By the way, I'm the chubby...

HELP! MASTER SECTION NOT WORKING!

Hi everybody! Last Saturday I went to rehearse with my MA50C and none of the knobs in the master section was working. Any ideas of what could have caused that? Is this amp very sensitive to be carried in the trunk of the car? I'll try to take pictures of the Circuit Board to see if you guys can see ...

Another solution for the fizzy fizz

Hello everybody! I'm a newcomer to the forum and I'm and proud owner of an MA since oct/10 and have always struggled to tame the high end fizz that is so discussed around! Besides the OD in the loop trick, I have another suggestion to get rid of the fizz from the amp, specially in low volumes. I hav...
