Any plexi owners that can comment on how close preamp #5 sounds compared to the real thing?

Still loving the JMD after 3+ years. I assume many have recorded using the JMD. I've recorded direct in through the emulated out and with a 57 mic on my 4x12 vintage 30 cabinet. The direct out sounds good but I find I get much better tone using the 57 as a close mic and a LDC for room ambience. How ...

DSL or no?..

I've had my JMD 50 head for 3 years now. I love it. However, I find I have settled in on the DSL preamps. I use preamp 2 for cleans and 15 for my crunch and lead tones. I have found some great tones using my SG standard. My question is for DSL owners. Would it be worth it to buy the DSL? Specificall...

Just mucking around last night and recorded a quick vid. Had to turn it way down so it didn't overload the crappy camera mic. I am in love with preamp 6. Sounds do good and chunky. Happy riffing.

Re: Speaker choice for JMD1

Only other Marshall amps I've played the cab through was a DSL 50 head and a TSL 100. Sounded great.

Re: Speaker choice for JMD1

I'm running a 4x12 marshall cab with vintage 30's and gt-75's. Doesn't sound cold or digital at all to me. I will say it can be a bright sounding amp on certain presets. I dial back the treble and presence a bit. Of course I've been playing Mesa stuff for a while and they dont have any midrange so a...

Re: Initial Impressions...

Thanks for the tips. Did the factory reset out of the box. I'm such a nerd I had already read the entire owner's manual before I bought it. Already have a few awesome tones programmed in. That 1974 preamp has me drooling. It's odd...it seems that most of the complaints or issues come from owners of ...

New JMD owner here. First, a giant THANKS to the members of this forum who informed and inspired the purchase. I think I've read every post. I've been looking for a new amp for a year (I know...it takes me a while, I'm very thourough). I bought the 50 watt head used on ebay. Under 600 bucks! This th...
