Re: GAS for the 1 watt amp

I might go for the JCM if it doesn't have a price tag from outer space like the JTM has so far. But maybe it won't.

Re: Amplifying the 1 watt Marshall range

Set the amp to 0.1 watt, all five of the amps have this cut switch. Run a cable from the speaker out into the fx return of your favorite 100 watt head, set the loop to +4 and turn it up. Instant ass kick tone at big club levels. Supposing your main amp doesn't have an fx loop...is it safe, generall...

Re: The new 50th amps

Found them! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIUo3xX4PlU Looks like speculation on the price has been fairly correct...to quote Chris George: "Don't quote me, but I think it's about $700". Kind of disappointing really. They look like great amps, but their justification for the loopy price is: 1. "We'r...

Re: The new 50th amps

Yep looks like a confirmed UK price. They don't have them but you can pre-order at that price. They probably won't be more in the US like the bigger stuff is, maybe even a little less if their other small amps are anything to go by. But I'll wait this one out I think. My money says there's no way th...

Re: The new 50th amps

It's going to get a little pricey.

... Z2#t=5m23s
I watched that video through, he didn't say anything about the price.

Headphones out from another amp into Class 5

I have the Class 5 head and a 4x12 cab. I have another amp, a Roland Cube 30W combo. I'd like to try plugging it's headphones output into the Class 5, to get some more gain at lower volumes. Headphones output is the only kind of output the Roland has besides the built in speaker. Is it OK to do this...

Re: impedance matching

One thing I'm amazed about is that when I tested the amp, and later the cab, in stores, it didn't seem insanely loud. But now that I have them at home, I can't believe the volume. Even using the headphones jack to drive the 4x12, it's louder than I normally play. On full power output, I'm afraid to ...

Re: impedance matching

The C5 head also has an 8 ohm output speaker jack, maybe that was being used? If you are looking for a speaker cab, the matching Marshall C110 cab is pretty nice, it's essentially the C5 combo enclosure without the electronics. It sounds way bigger than its size would lead you to believe, and it's ...

Re: impedance matching

Thanks lads. I went ahead and bought it anyway. Great amp. Unfortunately they didn't have a cabinet I liked so I'm sitting here looking at my speakerless head...wishing it was tomorrow so I can go speaker shopping!

impedance matching

I was trying out a Class 5 head in Guitar Center the other day. I loved it, but I noticed the guy had set it up with an 8 ohm speaker cab, when it should be 16. It sounded fine. Could there be damage now lurking in this head as a result? Or does the fact that it didn't blow straight away mean that i...

Re: Class 5 at bedroom volume secret

Hi, I was lamenting the lack of the power attenuation switch on the head, seeing as it's on the new combo - then I saw this thread. Would I be right in thinking that the new power attenuation switch on the combo is in fact exactly the setup discussed here - i.e. it uses the headphones output for the...
