Red on the plate surface (anode) is a bad thing. Replace the tubes and re-bias asap.

Generally speaking, because of the way most Marshall tone stacks are wired, the EQ controls are more subtle than other amps with active tone controls.

The body control is really meant to add girth to single coil pick ups. If you're using a humbucker keep the body control set as low as possible.
