Yup, that would fix it! I play my 2466 through a 2x12 with a Vintage 30 and a G12H30. I've tried 2 Vintage 30s in the cab, but the G12H30 adds extra sweetness--hard to explain in words.
I posted a speaker comparison a few years ago that included a 425a cab: https://musiciansroadhouse.com/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=22187&p=197397&hilit=SV20H+fullbend#p197394 This was using a Marshall SV20H plexi-style amp, not the Vintage Modern. You can read the comments to see what people thought. List...
Great video. I wish they had demoed some of the clean sounds more. I have always felt that the Vintage Modern can produce really great clean tones. That to me is what makes the amp fantastic. super clean to super drive and everything in between. :Cheers Dana's blues Agreed. The clean tone is equal ...
Nice, a modeller for pedals now. If they had one made bigger, with more switches, I might be game for this. All in one pedal boards usually have to many limitations for me, mostly because of lack luster overdrive sounds though. The main thing is you can capture the tone of your own amp/cab/pedal in...
For anyone who wants to compare the 1-watters by actually playing them, yesterday I posted Tonex models of each of mine. If you use Tonex, search on "Marshall 50th" and that should get you to them. My Tonex user name is Summit_1971. They are all recorded with the same cab, the same mics, the same mi...
My 2466 has been sitting idle for many years while I've gone off searching for tone with the Marshall 50th Anniversary 1-watters, AmpliTube, the Universal Audio OX, a Vox AC10, and the SV20H, among other things. Today I sold the matching 425a cab (to fellow Roadhouse member slashwannabe1). That cab...
Huge tone. I have been back and forth so many times with the ampless approach vs. the old-fashioned mic'd cab approach. If I do a really careful comparison, the mic'd cab wins every time--there's a certain sparkle. But in the absence of a direct comparison, you'd be hard-pressed to pick the real amp...
It's been a hot, smoky summer here in the northern U.S., which inspired me to record this little 12-bar blues. I used the SV20H and aimed for a classic, somewhat ragged, blues tone. I'm pleased with the result. The guitar was a 1954 Les Paul (custom shop) with P90s, and the cab had a G12M Heritage s...
