Re: Thinking of retiring from Rock

I got sick of rock a metal quite a few years ago. I've always enjoyed doing different stuff, I played in a blues band for a few years, then I moved over to Country (old and new). Lots of great solo riffs to learn in cuntree. Now I just do hired gun stuff for money, and for myself I continue to try t...

DSL & TSL

I have a chance/choice to buy a 50 watt DSL and a 100 watt TSL for $1000.00. I've been looking around seems like a pretty good deal. I haven't had a chance to mess with either of these amps. I'm taking my LP over there to play through them, can someone give me some suggestions on what to look for, o...

This is my next gear purchase. Spencer at Sweetwater has already got his finger on the order button (no telling how long I'll have to wait though).

Re: Questions about recording sound quality w/Pro-tools

1. usually most mixers in protools build a mixing console with what is called a mix bus, it's where your mixing outputs are sent to usually some compression and mild eq is added in here. the reason most home studios don't have the volume is that lots of pro stuff is hammered through compressors. Som...

Re: Your "Best Rig"

mines pretty simple, the old vox amp, the travis bean guitar, my old reliable tube screamer, if I still had my jcm 800's I'd be grabbing them, well maybe. One of my the later model JCM 800 went through a fire at an old practice facility. It survived, tolex melted off, name plate melted down, some of...

Re: audio interfaces & AD/DA converters

I use three used motu 2408 MK II's , 2 have been modded @ Black Lion Audio. I also use an apogee duet. I'm upgrading this year to 3 Motu HD192 black lion mods. I was using a Yamaha O2R with these interfaces. I sold it because I don't need it with the HD192's . I have use of the Onyx 24.4 till then (...

Re: What's the hardest riff you ever had to learn?

Green Tinted Sixties Mind took me a full week just to get the intro down. While it's not that hard it took a bit for me to smooth up the right hand coordination wtih the tapping slide thing. Shawn Lanes' Not Again took a bit of work Anything that Johnny Hiland's ripped on. I've been working on Guthr...

Re: 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb.

What a great amp. To bad he doesn't want to do what it takes to make the amp perform to its potential. I have a 74 twin I'm going thru now..... Blackface mod, new caps, and replacing whatever isn't up to par.

Re: DSL1-Plexidrive and Lovepedal Believe. (Octave)

very nice, done very tastefully, like most effects should be used, most of the time. How do you like the Plexidrive? I'm thinking of getting either the plexidrive or the plexstortion from wampler. From the sound clips the drive sounds better on the rhythm, the plexstortion sound fatter on the leads....

Re: 2014, how is the year going for you guys so far?

2014 started off bad, but has had a complete turn around, January I was having blood pressure problems, I'd get dizzy sitting up or standing. Orthostatic Hypotension, blood pressure would drop way off. Dr's fixed the issue. Went back to work, lost that job, changed jobs twice after that. Finally lan...
