Plugged my JMD-1 100 watt heads Preamp out into:

My GR-5 Rig Kontrol and used GR-5s IR loader. Had the "speaker room" set up with the UK green 60's panned 50% right and the UK 80's white panned 50% left. I also used the "little reflector reverb lightly and had the Shelving EQ cutting a little of the bass and the extreme highs. Sounded EPIC through...

Re: Just got a JMD-1 100 watt Head!

Thanks folks! Last night I was able to program a few presets to play "Limelight" by Rush. It was very easy to get all four sound types for this song. For the lead I needed to goose it with my OCD but it was perfect with that. As I was playing through headphones with the JMD-1s balanced line out int...

Just got a JMD-1 100 watt Head!

And I am loving it. The silent options are excellent and very flexible. I can use the preamp out and run my own cabinet impulses. I can use the balanced line out into the mic input on my Eleven Rack (I also have a 20-30-30 db inline pad to tame the "heat" of the signal), ect. This is a very legit am...

Re: A demo of my Modded Haze 40C:

The amp sounded kind of muffleld before the mods. It is now brighter. It is also (though I'm not a big fan of these descriptors) more articulate.

A demo of my Modded Haze 40C:

This is modded with a couple of the mods I found in this forum. It also has a V-30 in it and a pair of Svetlana winged C EL-34s in it It was recorded on an I-phone so the bass doesn't translate very well but can certainly hear the "jist" of theat great Marshall tone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7...

Re: Haze 15 still in production?

I just got a Haze 40C a couple weeks ago and after changing one cap and clipping another ( I did a couple other cap mods but reversed them as the amp became too bright) biased it, and have a V-30 speaker in it (not needed from my reading here but it sure sounds good to me) the amp is excellent!

Re: Haze 40 mods for JCM 800

I did the Cap 73 snip, the 1nf mod to Cap 72. I did the Negative feedback loop resistor (R104) to 100K. The R23 to 1.5K. These mods I kept as the amp turned into a killer Plexi-JCM800 hybrid. I did the C48 470PF and jumpered a 470PF cap over R23 also. I didn't keep the C48 and R23+c mod as the amp b...

Yes, I forgot to mention mine is the 40 watt combo. Sorry 'bout that.
Very good sounding amp. Must be either they were threatening their more expensive amp line sales or
the reliability was so poor they had to stop making them.

I think the vast majority of Haze problems are tubes- bias

I got one of them used cheap. It sounded excellent right out of the uh... trunk. A tad dark maybe. So I did a lot of reading and stumbles onto this site. I Then registered. And saw the excellent mod section. I decided to clip cap 73 and put a 1nf in the #72 slot. The amp was then exactly what I want...
