Finally got around to looking at it just now - been very busy. Well, I think I have fixed it - a paper label had fallen onto one of the cones. After removing it, I could not hear the bad sound any more, so fingers crossed!

The bloke I bought my JTM45 from said the power valves were 2 x KT66. However, looking on the Marshall site, it says 2 x 5881. After Wiki-ing around, I'm a little confused. It sounds very nice - definitely more suited to my JTM45. Even my cloth ears can detect that!
