Re: Having Effects Loop installed...

Oh, I don't know... probably lost it when I added a bunch of pics to my account. No negative effect on tone. If there is nothing plugged in - the loop is bypassed.

Re: Having Effects Loop installed...

It should work - the metro is a standard effects loop with a few improvements. Make sure you get a qualified amp tech to do it - and ask them if they know of the metro first. Second - any tampering with the amp voids the warrantee - this straight from Marshall. Just FYI.

Re: Having Effects Loop installed...

Whats the difference between series and parallel loop? Thanks you. Series places the effect Post the gain in the amp which enables you to adjust the effect using the level controls on the effect. If there is no effect in the loop the loop is bypassed and amp functions as stock. I prefer this loop a...

Re: Having Effects Loop installed...

It really sounds great. if you are like me and used to using time based effects post overdrive - then yeah - this will matter. I use a Strymon Timeline in the loop - sometimes with a reverb as well - but mostly for various delay settings.

Re: Having Effects Loop installed...

Straight serial tube buffered effects loop. Total cost for install was $150 - my guy here is amazing - he used to design and build for Fender and Randall. Works out of his house now doing repairs and mods.

Re: Having Effects Loop installed...

I'll post some vids after I get the amp back showing how the mod went. Honestly I think this amp is just perfect besides that missing detail. Here is a video of my current live JVM rig. The Sl-5 will be my backup at gigs and used for the smaller gigs. [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNR2e4FX...

Having Effects Loop installed...

I'm having my tech add a buffered effects loop on the SL-5 on Monday. He did one on an old JcM800 that I had and it made the amp more useable for me for live. Delay out front sounds too mushy to me.

Re: New SL-5 loving it

The reason I like the effects loop is so that I don't have to re-wire my pedal board when I switch to this amp from the JVM. Its a pain in the ass. If the Blackstar can have an effects loop on it - really ANY modern amp with a gain channel should have it at this point.

New SL-5 loving it

Hey - new here - just picked up a brand new SL-5 at a local GC as a backup for my JVM 410c which was in the shop - and I have to say I love it. Keeper. I do wish it had an effects loop - but other than that - what a great amp. Sounds amazing with nearly any guitar - I play mostly Les Paul's and Stra...
