Re: No output from JMD102!

"Totally clarified" :clap . Thanks guys! I was looking for a bit more spread to my sound, and adding a 2x12 seemed like a nice, easy, portable, option. Now the 'easy' bit has evaporated, I'll probably just stick with what I've got. I tried a JVM recently. It was a good price and I was intrigued. To ...

Re: No output from JMD102!

Thanks for your patience! You'll be glad (and relieved!) to hear that this is finally making sense to me. With the amp currently being repaired, I'll ask the question and post the response over the next few days.

Re: No output from JMD102!

To me, the JMD is one of the most underrated amps around. I think there are a lot of people around here that wish it had been manufactured with better materials alongside some of their established valve amps.

Am I alone in thinking that the output sockets aren't intuitive?

Re: No output from JMD102!

Surfnorthwest - I confess to being clueless when it comes to matching cabs & amp output, and I want to be absolutely certain before adding a cab to my combo. My INTERNAL speakers in the 102 combo are connected as per the manual, to one of the pair of sockets labelled: 1x8ohm 2x16ohm Internal speaker...

Re: No output from JMD102!

Thanks everybody! The tech was at fault - somehow he managed to dislodge the wire connected to the speakers.......the mind boggles why he didn't check it first. It's gone to a different tech now to try to work out why half the valves aren't working. SteveD - thanks, I'll pass that on. BTW, are you r...

Re: No output from JMD502

Thanks Anitoli. The store was recommended to me, and it seemed ok. I have to say that there was sound from the amp when it went in, and I was only expecting a valve change & bias, so I might be forgiven for feeling a little p*ssed at them. Options are limited in this area of the UK. I suppose I'm tr...

No output from JMD102!

Hi. I've had a few glitches with my JMD102 combo. It was hissing & spitting at me - but still loud enough and good enough to gig. Since it's been 3.5 years since the last re-valve, I took it in to a local store. They called to say that after replacing the valves (JJ's - preamp and 4 x power amp all ...

Re: JMD102 Combo - extension cab...yes or no?

Thanks. I'll look into this when I get can. In the meantime, I'm going to try a sturdy stand to raise it up a couple of feet - it might make a difference.

Re: JMD102 Combo - extension cab...yes or no?

Thanks both. With the benefit of hindsight, I'd should have gone for a 100w head & 4 x 12. Would have hopefully avoided the mdf construction giving way as well; always living in fear with the combo, gig after gig....! I'll look into the splitter - may source some local expertise to sort it out. Do y...

JMD102 Combo - extension cab...yes or no?

Hi. Newbie here - though I've been plucking information for a few months (thanks guys :clap ). I've had a JMD102 100w combo for a couple of years (been taking really good care of it because of the construction issues :pray , and it seems to be paying off! :beerme ). I've just joined a new band :yea ...
