Paid a visit to Bletchley to Pick up my new (old) cab !

Picked up my newly re-finished 1960A cab last Friday prior to a gig on Saturday...What do you think of the job that they did printing up our artwork?

1960 ax Cab

Hi ...I have a chance of picking up a cheap 1960AX cab fitted with the 25W Greenbacks....I'm concerned that if I run this with a 100 watt head there's a possibility of damaging the speakers.. Some guitar shop ads recommend using a powerbrake with a 100w head. Do I need to worry about this , particul...

Re: Have I got a problem? 1960A and 1936 vintage cab

Thanx I didn't realise this...I thought they either worked or they didn't. I had no idea a failing plate could effect the tone ! And your post wasn't to clear on this. Are you suggesting that I need to check the Ohms to clarify if the plate is failing?

Re: Have I got a problem? 1960A and 1936 vintage cab

Thanx Blues & Cues but I'm a little confused. The cab is working (and loud) it's just that it sounds very trebly when compared to the 1936 V cab ( which has different speakers Vintage V30 celestions)....??????? You seem to be telling me how to test ohm of cabs and how to find out if the speakers are...

Have I got a problem? 1960A and 1936 vintage cab

I have a 1936 V cab which I keep for bedroom use with my JCM2000 DSL and Boss ME-80. Recently I bought a 1960A cab to use for gigs which is a JCM900 series. My worry is that the 1960A sounds really quite thin and trebly compared to the 1936 which is almost a bit too bassy. I have to change all my am...

LINKING CABS QUESTION TO MATCH OHMS

Hi Guys wondered if I could tap the collective knowledge of the forum please? I have a JCM 2000 DSL 100 watt amp together with a 19363V 2 by 12 cab (for home use) and a 1960A 4 by 12 for gigging... Because the 1960A is very directional I thought it might be nice to set the 2 by 12 cab on the other s...

Question to help out an idiot please

I'm looking at buying a 1960A cab for my JCM2000 DSL 100 Watt head ( I currently have a 1936V ) and see that it has both 4 or 16 ohm mono inputs....Is there any reason to use one or the other as my head has 16,8 and 4 ohm options as I'm sure you're well aware or as I suspect you'll say there is no d...

Re: Popping JCM 2000

Thanx to all...I isolated the amp to a socket on its own (previously shared with another amp on an extenesion lead) and also now have my Boss ME-80 going into a different double wall socket which it now shares with my Bose I player docking station that I jam with. Played an hour and a half last nigh...

Re: Popping JCM 2000

Thanx Mats...are you saying that the valves can function ok but still be "bad" ? Not sure I understand...or do you just mean that any valve could fail quickly because of a manufacturing fault for example.

Re: Popping JCM 2000

Would be a bit disappointed if Marshall installed valves failed in four months ! But hear what you're saying. However I would have expected to hear a change if were the case? However have just phoned Marshall who said it could be an issue with house electrics and to try in another location to see if...
