Re: The Astoria Custom Profiles

Really like them. The lead with some little delay and reverb, lovely to play with! Just spend some time with the Astoria Crunch with a strat. I put a nice vibe in front from here: https://www.kemper-amps.com/forum/index.php/Thread/31698-Stumbled-upon-a-stomp-that-sounds-like-a-vibe-machine/ man.... ...

Re: Mission Completed: 50 years of loud!

the JMP is mega loud on 1W, volume starts very quickly to build up early on tap. think i like the dynamics of the JTM more and that one also has a lot of gain already. funny thing is the tone controls work as volumes also: really boosts those tones :think and why they didn't put boost on the front ...

Re: Mission Completed: 50 years of loud!

Re: Mission Completed: 50 years of loud!

Thanks all!

love the DSL
I like the deep switch in but man what a bass... so i cut to 3/10
and some additional treble on 7/10 really makes it scream nicely.

Mission Completed: 50 years of loud!

http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y387/TontonPaul/DSC00236_zpsilmq9nbq.jpg 50 years of loud with 30 years of loud in 1 picture! I started with JCM1c, but didn't bond with the speaker. bought the JTM offset and JVM1 white, then found a JMP1h swapped the speakers to a heritage 65 and a V30 now made...

Re: NAD: White JVM1 head, it screams!

And actually being this the JVM1 topic: the 0.1W settings is not so much of use on the OD channel better and bigger sound, more harmonics on 1W So better turn volume down on 1W than up on 0.1W on the other amps it is different of course, there so mega-useful for managing the headroom and crunch. the...

Re: NAD: White JVM1 head, it screams!

Solved the speaker upgrade!! played a lot yesterday evening. with the V30 top and H30 bottom, especially the brightness or ploinky uppermids were bit harsh in my face. the v30 speaker was never used so thought just give it some time... Then today had magnificent idea: the top speaker is too loud and...

Re: NAD: White JVM1 head, it screams!

tested the h65, nice speaker clearly some lower brightness and indeed the whole speakers was quite lower in sound (97db) so as P A U L also mentioned, was bit afraid it doesn't match well in volume even though both V30/H30 100db, the H30 was clearly louder in recording. So put that one in bottom cab...

Haven't sold them yet but once they do I am leaning towards a DSL5C or an AVT50. I know some have said that the AVT sounds like marmite but to my ears it sounds better than the tweaker.
what about the new Satriani combo people talk about.
could be a winner!

Re: NAD: White JVM1 head, it screams!

while the graphs between the H30 & V30 are very much the same throughout, the voice in those frequencies are different. I went through this, when I was looking into them... Here, I did an overlay: https://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd340/pariht/V30H30_zps1bb90a0e.png They look pretty identical, ex...

P a u l: [/b] wow great stack, nice picture also with the red background very similar to mine 6101/6912 (except the width) :winking a stack like yours with my top and all white tolex would really look great! loved your tone of the Philips tube clip. this amp screams indeed for pinch harmonics :) ca...
