What type of strat do you have. Pickups? I can't get mine to sound good in my sl5. I wondering if I need to upgrade the hardware. It's a 2001 sunburst and it sounds great unplugged but plug in very tinty and lacks feel.

I wanted to thank you guys for the help. I found a Gold Lion KT88 in a stereo my father-in-law had laying around, looking to re-build I imagine. It looks like the rating on this is 6.3v 1.6A.

Santiago stated anything under 1.6A - is it OK to use this???
