Re: JTM1 - Bogner Blue pedal - Strat

Great sound. What type of pick ups do you have in your strat. Having a rough time finding the right ones for mine. Your sound is awesome.
I just purchased a SSL-6 and Fender custom 69 to try into my SL-5. Thanks for any help...

Thanks aristotle, I have that on my list. I found a bb2 on reverb.com for $40.00. I bought that one to try first. Thanks for the comment.

Re: BB2 with the SL5

OK need advice... The SL-5 is a great amp and I have been enjoying it a lot. I'm not very experience on types of pedals and what / where I'm trying to get to... I want to be able to add something that will give me searing, smooth and sustaining lead tone. I understand that most is in your finger but...

Re: A Stratocaster is for nice bright clean tones - Yeah rig

What type of strat do you have. Pickups? I can't get mine to sound good in my sl5. I wondering if I need to upgrade the hardware. It's a 2001 sunburst and it sounds great unplugged but plug in very tinty and lacks feel.

Bb2 with the SL5

Has anyone tried the Blue Breaker II pedal with this amp? Clean and dirty side? Any clips? I think they would be a good match. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. From video's I've seen the pedal sounds great and the boost would be a plus. Just haven't heard one with the SL5. Im currently usi...

Re: Having Effects Loop installed...

What happened to the photo with the FX loop? How did it work out? I'm looking to put one in this week. Do you have any clips? Did it do anything negative to the tone?

Thanks

Re: Tube question

I wanted to thank you guys for the help. I found a Gold Lion KT88 in a stereo my father-in-law had laying around, looking to re-build I imagine. It looks like the rating on this is 6.3v 1.6A.

Santiago stated anything under 1.6A - is it OK to use this???

Great forum

Re: Tube question

I tried a Shanguang kt66 and didn't have a good feel to it. The tube was so big that it stretch out the spring holder. When I maxed out the volume wasn't pleasing. Not sure why the RCA 6Y6G sound so good. It has an earlier breakup and some really nice creamy crunch. Sounds very full, alot of tight b...

Tube question

Does anyone know if the 6y6g is ok to use in the amp? I had a 6l6 in there until tonight. I had a old RCA 6y6G from my father in law's old stereo and it had the same pin config. Don't know if this would do any damage to the amp. It sounds great. It breaks up early and has a real nice balanced sound ...

Re: Recorded SL-5 with KT-66 Tubes

Just installed a Shuguang KT66 in the amp. Pretty big tube. The holder from the el34 is not long enough. Is there any problem with the metal cage hitting the end of the tube. It actually seem like it is holding it in place. Any issue anyone can think of? What a great sounding tube. Makes the amp sou...

Re: Pre_Amp_Tubes

My mistake. It's my Budda 18 I'm selling that was having problems with red plating. The marshal I think I put the spring cover on wrong then drove to practice and it broke. I guess I'm just really wondering the best tubes for this. I went thru many with the Budda to finally put the sovteks back in. ...
