Re: speaker emulator

For me, it was a matter of what sounded best. First, I tried running the preamp, at instrument level, direct to my sound card. It sounded like ass. I got the M-track... Preamp still sounded like ass. Same with taking sound directly from the Class 5. When I put the direct box in the mix, it gave me ...

Re: speaker emulator

The M-Track connects to your computer via USB. Here is the amp and speaker connections for the direct box: Left connection is the output from the amp. Right connection is the output to the speaker. http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o581/skinnyjl/DI%201.jpg This is the mic cable connection that ru...

Re: speaker emulator

Which jack are you connecting from the class 5 to the direct box? Could I use the line-out on my attenuator to the direct box? Where do I plug the output from the M-track in the computer? The mic line in? Just want to be sure. You can connect line out from attenuator to line in/ real tek. I'm afrai...

Connect line out to input of your sound card!
Set the gain a little lower to avoid clipping and make sure you route correct input in your software.
What sound card do you use?
Realtek soundcard (ALC668) with a ASUS ROG G751 computer.

speaker emulator

Not user if this is the right forum for this question. I'd like to try using speaker emulator software for recording. But I can't seem to find how to hook up my amp output to my computer. Everything I've run into doesn't seem to answer the question. I've a class 5 and a 50th Jmp1 1 watt. I do have a...

Re: jcm1c + CMATMODS brownie

Ok, I have to say I'm lost here. How are you running the amp output to your recording software? Will a program like Audacity do what your doing?

Re: JMP1 70' rock tone (mix)

Sound's great. I'm getting pretty much the same sound with your setting at 1/4 watt on my JMP1 with my class 5 bottom. How far do you have the mike away from the speaker? I'm finding with my class 5 bottom, to close isn't working well. It's sounding better farther away. Right now about six inches "1...

Re: Bottom for a Jmp1-h

Hey shaun here's a test. This was thru the JMP1 volume 10 base 10 treble 10. Had it set for 1/4 watt mode. Had my SG on Volume 7 any higher was very dirty. Other that it being louder, there wasn't any tone change on full one watt. Do you want me to do the same thing with the class five head? I'll se...

Re: Bottom for a Jmp1-h

Got it today after all. There is a huge different in volume between the two amps as one could have guessed. So I'm not sure how to do the test. I'm thinking of using the bedroom trick with the class 5 and the ¼ watt button on the JMP to get something reasonable with the volume. My attenuator doesn't...

Re: Bottom for a Jmp1-h

bop75, I mean the same 2 amps going through the same cab. That is, the C5 and the JMP1 going through the same cab. Not a cab shootout. It is an amp shootout through the same cab. Thank you . Yes I know. I posted the shoot out for anyone wanting to hear the 1912. I of course missed the JMP1 deliver ...

Re: Bottom for a Jmp1-h

Hey bop75, i would go for G12M 75HTZ. To me that is a late 70's Celestion Blackback 'greenback' with bass resonance at 75HTZ, not the 55HTZ. Lead cone. Preferably in a 4 x 12 Hiwatt straight faced, closed back cab. Low end tightness and mid end fullness, heaven at the same time. Dude, i have been w...
