Re: Question about head cabinets

Thanks. I noticed that the dimensions listed for the heads and the combos are different. The heads are slightly longer. I considered the possibility that that might just be a little extra room in the cab and not the chassis. I wouldn't mind the whole thing being upside down. But I'm not enough of a ...

Question about head cabinets

I have a Vintage Modern combo, and I want to put the head into cabinet. Are all the Marshall head cabinets the same? Is the VM exactly like a specific model? Anyone know of aftermarket manufacturers if I can't find a Marshall?

Thanks,

Lincoln

Re: What about the Marquee Celestion in the Haze 40?

I did try a Creamback. I got the 65 watt. It sounds sweet. I'm very happy with it.

What about the Marquee Celestion in the Haze 40?

What does anyone think about the Marquee Celestion that comes in the Haze 40? I think I like it, but I haven't tried anything else. How does it compare to other Celestions? Or has anyone tried any other speakers?

Thanks,

Lincoln

Re: Anyone experiment with covering portholes in back of Haz

I'm not so sure about this. It probably depends on the venue. Sometimes the sound gets too small. If you really need to control your sound, it's OK.

Re: Anyone experiment with covering portholes in back of Haz

The heat factor did occur to me. Fuarthermore, with the vent on top, and the portholes in the lower part of the cab, I wondered how much of an actual draw effect the heat would create and help cool the tubes. After running the amp for a very long time and building up sufficient heat, I suspended som...

Re: Anyone experiment with covering portholes in back of Haz

I thought I would comment on my own thread since no one else has yet. So far, it's been what I was hoping. Although the overall volume is reduced, the low end is tigher, there is slightly more compression, and the rhythm is punchier and more percussive. An easier way to say it is that it sounds has ...

Anyone experiment with covering portholes in back of Haze40?

I just acquired a Haze 40. I'm liking it so far. I was wondering if anyone had tried covering the portholes in the back and what effect that might have had. Specifically I'm wondering about increasing the compression and/or what effect on the low end. This seems likes it's one of the few closed back...

Re: Does Anyone Use the Mid Boost?

Jimi, that sounds like a big sound. I haven't been using this amp long, so I don't have a lot of hours logged in gigging with it yet. I find when I'm home and screwing around, I like it on especially for soloing. But for a general all around tone, I usually end up dialing out some of the low end if ...

Re: Does Anyone Use the Mid Boost?

I would prefer switchable mid boost rather than switchable reverb.

Does Anyone Use the Mid Boost?

Hi, I recently acquired a VM combo, and I'm learning more about how to control it. Sometimes I think I like the mid boost, and then sometimes I think it adds a slightly synthetic sound when engaged. It sounds great sometimes for leads, but since it's not foot switchable which would have been great, ...

Box of Rock with 2266c

I just acquired a 2266C. I've been running it through the paces, and love a lot of the sounds. But I also love the Box of Rock pedal. They sound good together, and do offer a good way around the "boost" dilemma. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for the best settings for use with a Box of Rock...

Fantastic video. A pleasure to listen to. It should be mandatory viewing for any guitar player.
