Re: Popular mods for the MA-series... thread...

The mods i've seen sofar: On off switch swap with an illuminated one. Speakerswap for celestion gt75. And on the heads a swap of the frontpanel to get the jcm800 look. That's about it. And a swap out of the spring reverb. As most of the original springbreverbs seemed faulty.

Re: Your top 3 guitarist of all time, and why..

I was allways drawn to the funk side of the spectrum. So I like Nile Rodgers (Chic), Freddie Stone (Sly & the family stone) and more of those cats...

Re: Design your own amp

I would actually increase weight but then, split the rig in three pieces: 1 = 2 x 12" Cabinet with inbuilt power amp 2 = 2 x 10" Cabinet with space for pedaøs, tuner, back up solid state amp. 3 = light weight 2 x Preamp (Clean + dirty with posibilty to mix them together). Nope. 2x10 or 2x8 and 1x12...

Re: Hartley Peavey Interveiw

Where Fender is sold and bought by several large investment groups, Peavey is a company owned by one man. And he is now at an age he could have sold his company for lotsa dough and enjoy the good life. But he doesn't. Recently he made several tube amps in the 20 watt range with reall tubes, USB, and...

Re: Marshall tubes versus aftermarket (NOS Siemens) tubes

I replaced the tubes with the Siemens ones. I'll measure plate voltage when I get the chance. Thank you.... But since the Siemens were fine at 35mA.... And sound nice... Nothing else was changed on the amp.

Re: Design your own amp

One head wich has 2x20 watt for fx. Two line inputs with gain. And two master volumes. And a 40 watt center channel with two channels and a boost on the crunch channel. I'd like the clean channel to have a classic Marshall clean sound.

Marshall tubes versus aftermarket (NOS Siemens) tubes

I tried to bias my old Marshall tubes in my Ma50C. So I could get them at 53mA and not at the recommended 35mA to 40mA. I put some NOS siemens EL34 tubes in there and biassing at 35mA was piece of cake. On the feet of these Marshall tubes I read 49mA 8/37. Does that mean they were once biassed at 49...

I wonder how it compares to the rather rare Peavey Penta.

Alpeggio thanks so much... That's great information! To Sai.... When in slow.... play your solo... When you play the last two notes.... Press the pedal and hold... That's the moment where a leslie changes speed and the belt will slip untill it regains grip and the speed will rize... When you use tha...

Re: Best Vibe ever, TC Electronic Viscous Vibe

A vibe should have an expression pedal and a slow/fast button. Otherwise it can't do all the crasy ramp up ramp down... Wich makes it that crasy fx.
