Re: When did this happen??

From the clips I've heard, this amp kicks-balls! Low to medium gain + pedal is where it's at for me. When I listen the clips, I think...

Re: The Klon Centaur is Back - Ceriatone Centaur is Good

HI. I bought a Klon not long after they first came out, and didn't care for it all that much. But as my ear improved with playing, or at least I would like to think so (!), I started to realize the nuances it could provide. I've been looking around for one the last few years but decided I am not go...

Re: The Klon Centaur is Back

Bill no longer needs to mold the sand-cast housings, as they are now available from China. If it were me, I would reissue the originals, as he has done, and price them at $499.99 per unit. Let the Klontard war begin! :jackoff

I believe Jimmy's primary recording amplifier was a VOX AC30.

I love Joe's guitar tone on Live From Daryl's House. What amp he was using, I do not know?

Re: Intermittent static and popping?

If you suspect the 5751 swap it with a different tube and you will know if that is it. But a 5751 is a lower gain tube than a 12ax7. My testers only need a gain of 70 out of 120 to be in the good range while a 12ax7 needs 92 or more out of 120. Thank you, I'll swap it out today. Just curious... The...

Re: Intermittent static and popping?

Also i just looked at the schematic and the FX loop is between V2A abd V2B. Place a jumper into the loop, is it still making the noise? I'll try this. Don't know if this matter or not, but I didn't have anything in the effects loop. Here's something... I've been running an old triple mica 5751 tube...

Re: Intermittent static and popping?

Have you tried working backwards from the power amp. Remove the PI and fire it up, do you hear the noise? If not then replace the PI and remove the next tube in the line, do you hear the noise? Keep doing this until the noise appears, this will give you an indication of where to look in the circuit...
