Re: How different are the Studio preamp schematics from a 2203?

From what I have gathered, the preamp circuit is the same from the inputs to the tonestack, but much harder to follow as the layout is a lot different and there are no wires / lugs to facilitate mods as there was on old JCM800's

Re: Boss NS2 in uncompensated loop

well, that's odd because the gate send and return must be between input and output... at least on all gate-like pedals with 2 inputs/2 outputs...

to me the schematic is the correct way

Re: Hum noise LM6100

the hum comes from the speaker or the amp itself ?
I got quite a noisy mains transformer on my 6101, but nothing comes from the speaker

Re: Clean channel is not working.

Oh and checked c2/r2 : The bright switch is still bypassing R2 on the circuit board so no différence in thé end but you're right that they are "inverted" between schematics and circuit board

Re: Clean channel is not working.

Yup clean channel is damn good on this amp
I'm toying with the idea of replicating this clean channel on a home made amp.

Re: Clean channel is not working.

check Your caps if your multimeter has a cap measuring mode, i know it’s a pain but would have been cool to change those caps and pots one at a time.
I’ll check mine for c2/r2 it seems weird

Re: Clean channel is not working.

seems wrong to me that C2/R2 are inverted (britght switch wouldn't make sense the other way round) maybe you misread your board ? and check your volume pot resistance on every 10th position, that's not right

on my 6101 presence isn't "strong" but still quite noticeable even at low volume

Re: Clean channel is not working.

just in case, did you try with the mid shift switch in the other position ? the bright switch off ? by the video, this really looks like some pot is the other way 'round but that's a wild guess... what I would do : 1st : try another tube on V1 just in case 2nd : if no change with another V1 check ar...

Re: Clean channel is not working.

looks like there's some mess-up with grounds and or pot-side
check continuity between chassis and ground lug of mid-pot and clean volume ground lug pot first
check pot values too, where did you find the pot set ?

Re: Modulus Amp Mod800 build (2204 circuit)

swapped the 2 sozo coupling caps from the first stages with orange drops as one sozo was leaking a bit of DC (the fact it was upside down on one of the pictures came from an attempt to see if changing the direction of it would stop the leak. it didn't of course...) https://reho.st/medium/self/44cbd3...
