Welcome aboard :howdy The beauty of the JCM is that of all the 1 watt series, I find it's the one that has the intended tone straight up with little to no need for twaeking and finding the sweet spot. However, rolling up the gain and backing off the volume will give you a great blues tone and the EQ...
I have one of these great compressors which I stuck between my bass and the JTM-1. http://www.effectrode.com/wp-content/uploads/pc_2a_tube_compressor_pedal.png I wish I could record at home, I would allow my unskilled chops to be heard just for glorious tone that comes from the Effectrode Compressor...
Nice clip and perhaps I'm getting my bass ear back but I prefer the first section with pick. I like extra bite but Idon't find it overpowering, a really nice growl and rumble
I haven't tried the DSL yet but I did try the JVM and while serviceable, nowhere near as nice as the JTM.
A 1x15! that sounds interesting. Its funny but I'm already using a bass cone speaker in the G12H55hz, and the early Marshalls were made for both bass and guitar, so the JTM1 is a good choice. BTW I'm only using it for home recording. I decided not to mod my JTM1, I was so close to having a valve re...
Thanks Bluesburst, I was wondering what to use for my bass, was gonna use the YJM channel 2, but this sounds easier. Thanks for sharing the settings, will give it a try. Al No problem Al, But it is only for low volume house friendly practice and I should have added the settings were for straight bl...
So for a whole range of reasons I won't bore you guys with, I'm getting back into bass playing for some future projects. I've started to get my chops back and initially plugged in my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe at low house volumes. It sounded OK to start with but tonight I thought I'll plug in to the JTM...
Hmmmmm... :think The JTM is the killer "vibe" amp of the bunch but being a child of the 80's the JCM is my "go to" amp. It nails the 80's tone without tweaking, it's just there!!! But, I love the JVM, it's extremely versatile, has a clean that's edgy and an insane modern metal crunch. I have an incr...
Thanks for the advice Sigi. I didn't realise that Marshall sold them separately. I did look on their website and couldn't see them in the products section. I'll speak to my local dealer tomorrow. The logos I've seen, like the one in your picture, seem to have screws through the plate. I thought may...
I just swapped V1 in my JTM1 for a preferred series 7025 tube. Noticeable improvement. Warm full bodied tone, smooth natured overdrive, round nice lows. And also increased harmonics and it sounded prettier than stock. Definitely made a smoother nicer blues tone. Definitely worth it Now this sounds ...
Holy cow! The JTM1 thru ADF100 sounds killer, the power amp section does it sooooo good :) Thanks for the advice, Bluesburst :) I thought you'd like it, I'm glad you do :Cheers Remember, if you do put KT66's in the power section, what you end up with is actually a monster JTM rig. JTM's have KT66's...
Hi, Do you find it too trebly in both modes? The KT66's won't fix that but as I said in my thread, what you will get overall is a warmer tone with more bite, punch and a bit more volume. The amp is actually very misunderstood. While the power scaling works very well, as you raise the power the tone ...
