Re: My latest rig - BOSS GT-100 into power amp

UPDATE: I tried out the ISP Stealth Pedalboard Power Amp and while impressive for its size, I decided to keep my Marshall DSL and just use it as a power amp for now and occasionally via the 4CM. The ISP delivers very clean power but in the end, I didnt want to sell my Marshall to keep it.

Re: My latest rig - BOSS GT-100 into power amp

Good points, I just realized I probably should clarify. What I mean is that I am very happy with the tone of the BOSS GT-100 through a "power amp" (which is what I've turned the Marshall into). If I can achieve the same thing with the ISP power amp, I would sell my Marshall just for space reasons.

My latest rig - BOSS GT-100 into power amp

For about 6 months now, Ive been using my DSL40 as a power amp by going directly from my BOSS GT-100 into the effects return. Ive never been happier with my tone. Having the ability to tweak on the fly and the wah as part of the unit is awesome. The Marshall and the (Seismic Audio) 1x12 extension ca...

Re: Finally tried a Code 50 locally

I would consider buying the 50c and throw in a better speaker like a Veteran 30 (which I have in my DSL40)

Re: Just purchased a Boss NS-2

I wonder if & how it would work for a noisy JMP-1 rack unit w/ transformer noise. I have a midi patch that bypasses everything in my rack that is dead silent even @ 300 watts but killing the transformer noise would be better in case I'm not hovering over the pedal board. Thats a good question. I kn...

Just purchased a Boss NS-2

I just have to recommend the BOSS NS-2. I've been using an ISP Noise Decimator for years and I decided to give the NS-2 a shot. I've used a noise gate in front of my amps for years (I use one in the loop as well but its from my GT-100 because I'm utilizing the four-cable-method). I A/Bed the ISP and...

Played through a JMD50 watt head this weekend..

...And I still dont care for it. When the JMD first came out, me and my bother both bought the 50 watt head version. I eventually sold mine because I just couldn't find a 3 or 4 sounds that I liked. I eventually settled on my current set up (a DSL40c.) I haven't played through one for a few years bu...

Re: The CODE has landed in the UK

Really has to do with the way Softube is able to model these amps. The modeling technology they used in the CODE is better then what they had available back when they made the models for the JMD1 six years ago. I am still waiting to rip apart a 100 watt version and rack it as a preamp to push into ...

Re: The CODE has landed in the UK

i run a roland GR55 that has the same preamp modelling... imo it's no competition to the modelling from code I certainly cant speak for the CODE because I haven't tried it but Im sure its pretty awesome. As far as the BOSS, I sometimes run it BOSS directly into the effects loop return to use the Ma...

Re: The CODE has landed in the UK

Im very interested in the 50 watt CODE, Im just trying to figure out where it would fit in my arsenal. I use my GT100 with my DSL40 for effects and I am still interested in getting a used DSL5C. The Marshall pre-amps from my GT100 are so good through the DSLs power amp, that I dont know if the CODE ...
