I agree there are differences when placed on a time line. 80's g12t75's do not sound the same as the 90's production ones. This prolly applies to other speaker models as well.

Can you post a link to the correct data sheet for the FET? I assume that's the part you need.

As long as the electrical characteristics in the data sheet are equal, really close or better than you should be able to use it.
