The answer is yes, running two 8 ohm cabs with your amp ohm selector set to 4 ohms is correct.

I gotta learn to get better recordings....always top notch Al. The Gibson is brighter, and the Monster has more upper mids. Plectrum difference is more subtlee for me. Ok the singer in my band has the EVH 212. It has these speakers and it is a 50 watt cab. They are very warm sounding and I agree they are not as bright as Greenbacks. I believe that they are Greenback based but voiced to have less of a top end. Essentially they are voiced to sound like the Van Hale...

That question cme up...how can 4x20w speakers in a 4x12 cab equal a 100w rated cab? Celestion said it will handle 100w no problem.

My friend put a set of EVH speakers in a 1960B cab and they are warmer, not as bright as my late 90's 1960BX cab.

The Celestion guy at NAMM 2013 said the EVH speaker is the same as the Heritage G12M-25, and truly a 25w.

Can anyone id this speaker? I believe it is a G12-65 but can only go by the pic. It's from a '79 1960 cab/
