Re: Went to pick up some cables....

The Blue Gibson is an ES-137. Sounds really nice at low volume, but feeds back like crazy at high volume. Plays and sounds very cool though...mainly just my "figuring stuff out" guitar. I may just follow your advice Surf regarding the amp switcher (your suggestion about the Mark 4.23 was right on th...

Re: Went to pick up some cables....

Nice, always likes the wine color Paul's. That is a risk all of take when walking into any music store for a set of strings or cables, is coming out a few thousand short. Oh well. You have good taste in amps. When I seen that picture I said, dang he has the same three heads I do, but then I saw it ...

Went to pick up some cables....

...and came back with a new Les Paul. Always shunned Guitar Center for the big stuff, mainly just because I like to support the independents... And I definitely don't like the idea of these one-off "limited run" sorts of dealios that Gibson seems in love with... And I definitely definitely don't lik...

Re: Had a JVM , now a new VM

I'm coming off of a JVM410 also....and I definitely agree that the VM (2466 head in my case) is more fun/expressive/something to play through. That said, for me anyway, it's hard to beat the convenience of the 410 when playing out live. Surf's suggestion (and probably the suggestion of plenty of oth...

Re: JVM 410H head....what cabinet to get VM creaminess?

Thanks Steve.... Cool that the designer is on this forum. As somebody who likes to noodle around with home-brew SET designs for home audio stuff, I'm pretty impressed with the JVM on multiple levels... -- Fri Apr 15, 2011 11:37 am -- Meant VM! (though I still gig with the JVM when screwing up isn't ...

Re: Almost perfect.. Just need a bit of help!

Thanks for the advice Surf. My 4:23 just arrived. I put it in the loop, and as you suggest, it works wonderfully configured that way. Glad to have this place as a resource... -- Mon Apr 18, 2011 8:31 am -- Hi Surf, I tried the 4:23 in the loop out live for the first time this weekend, and had a bit ...

Re: JVM 410H head....what cabinet to get VM creaminess?

I'm new to my 2466 but have been playing through a JVM410 for some time. I found (to my ear) that the JVM sounds great through a 1960AHW. Can't say that it makes it sound "creamier" or like a VM, but the low end punch provided by the 55 Hz response changes the character, particluarly at high volume.

Re: Almost perfect.. Just need a bit of help!

Thanks Surf... I'll give the boost in the loop a try. I assume that you use it primarily on LDR because it doesn't give you the results you'd expect in HDR? I'll find out quickly enough when I try it out...but this has definitely been cool to play around with.

Re: Almost perfect.. Just need a bit of help!

I'm struggling with my 2466 live also. If I have 15 seconds between songs I can (usually) dial it up so that the guitar volume and tone settings gives me everything I need within a song. Required changes between songs can be rather significant though, depending on the material, and so far (3 outings...
