For most guitar amps, full mids with bass and treble at 0 actually gives a near-flat frequency response. The tone stack basically provides equalization for the natural sound of a pickup. So the mid boosts the pickup's normal (midrange) sound. The treble and bass controls on the other hand to the do ...
I find the volume pedal is very effective. The MA sounds best when boosted in the effects loop with it's volume set high...so keeping that vol pot turned up and controlling dB levels with the the volume pedal makes the MA sound frigging awesome at low dB levels. I hardly have any noise coming from t...
I've tried all kinds of stuff. My current settings are (using clock face) Crunch, Bass, Presence & Resonance at 12; Gain & Vol at 3; Mid & Treb 1; No Reverb. I'm using a Boss FB-2 => Boss EQ-20 => MXR117 Flange => Dunlop DVP-1 in the effects loop. In front of the amp it's Tuner/Mute=>Wah=>Compressio...
The V8 Supercars rock. The only way to watch them race live is online (at least here in the US). Otherwise you have to wait two weeks after the fact to watch them on TV...on Sunday night....at 11 PM.
My local PMT has plenty of overpriced stock hanging on the walls, is staffed by ignorant idiots who will lie to you rather than admit they do not know the answer to your query, and will only give you the time of day when they can see the colour of your money. Apart from that it's ok. We have that t...
Any 12AX7 or ECC83 tube will work. The rest is subjective...it's all about what sounds good to your ears, so it's really about trial and error. Having said that, this is a pretty good comparison of different 12AX7/ECC83 tubes: http://thetubestore.com/12ax7review.html It's not a complete list of ever...
If there is nothing wrong with your power tubes, I wouldn't change them...at least not at first. In addition to what Surf said, another thing to think about before changing the power tubes is the pre-amp tubes. They are the first thing the signal from your guitar "sees" and can make a dramatic diffe...
As long as you put a matched set in you can get away with replacing one pair. Different brand tubes do have different tonal qualities though...just something to keep in mind.
The fuse is a GDC 630mA 250v slow-blow fuse. You might also see it listed as a T630mA 250v.
The best thing that can be done for any tube amp is to have air circulating around it, which it sounds like you do . Air moving across components carries away heat and extends their life. The actual ambient temp isn't quite as important, but air temp shouldn't be extreme in either direction. A good ...
Replace it with the same fuse type. It's a GDC 630mA 250v slow-blow fuse. 0.6A should work, as long as it's 250v and slow-blow. Not sure where on the planet you are, but I picked up a set of 5 on Amazon for around $5 (including shipping). You can get them on eBay for around the same price. The fact ...
