Re: Gibson buys Mesa

I was basing my comments on the quality of the guitars made since the new team has taken over and the current catalogue, which i think is closer to what people have wanted from Gibson. To be honest I have not followed what they have done with other brands.. That's fair. Their new offerings are very...

Re: The American Election

No matter what side you are on, it is sad to see the USA in such state. Not that other ”democracies” are doing much better to be honest... democracy is an illusion... lobbyists are in charge and always get their way. All democracies are essentially doomed from the start because they are vulnerable ...

Re: Gibson buys Mesa

Tbh Gibson are under new management and so far their new management has been great . Then again I do not understand that move at all... i do not think that a large portion of Gibson owners are into Mesa... Man I've got to disagree. The Dean lawsuit, then saber rattling against Heritage, the whole "...

Re: How loud is a Marshall 2555x Silver Jubilee half stack? Lets find out!.

My Vintage Modern 2466 100watt I always thought was a super loud amp, but it comes on a little later on the volume knob than the Jubilee does, that measured 128db with my 8ohm 4x12 cab. Kind of curious to see what the difference is going to full stack!. I tried the Jubilee out in 50 watt mode with ...

Re: How loud is a Marshall 2555x Silver Jubilee half stack? Lets find out!.

Yeah the transformer hum and the tendency for the amp to try to do its own thing with the feedback... never played a Jub but played plenty of other 100 watters and currently have two in the stable. It's an intimidating rig for sure! Now think about the impression of that back in the day... there wer...

Merry Christmas!

(I am cross posting this, so you may see it in other places.) I LOVE the Trans Siberian Orchestra Christmas albums. Of course, they all tell a story, and the story (that the narrator reads if they perform the album live) is in the album notes. I think that they are all connected! The first album was...

Re: Marshall Studio Vintage combo

Congrats! I have the SV20H. Love it! Yeah, there's a lot of bad info and opinions out there concerning 10s. They have their place and your playing situation is a perfect example. I've tested my SV20H into a 1x10 and got some good tones. Greenback 10, G10 Gold, Vintage 10 and i even pulled the G10N-...

Does the notification bell still work for everybody?

Lately the notification bell hasn't been showing me anything - like replies to subscribed threads and whatnot. Just wondered if anyone else had that problem or if it was just me. No biggie if it's just me.

Re: Any Vox users? Handwired series is awesome!

Every time I hear a Vox the tone always intrigues me. I've just never took the plunge for one. I LOVE the Vox sounds I have heard in record. Brian May and Bryan Adams both have fantastic guitar tones! Unfortunately my Vox experience has been limited to playing with an AC10 in a Guitar Center and I ...

Great song. I like the cover from The Blues Brothers, too.

Re: Any Vox users? Handwired series is awesome!

I hope to always have a Marshall-esque circuit available, although now three of my "Marshalls" are clones. I've never played one of the handwired AC15's or AC30's but they've always been on my radar. Just never jumped on one.
