Re: LDR - more distortion expected?

Hey, Here is what I recorded today It is possible to get chrunch in LDR but not using my favourite settings. You heard my cleans in video with my ordinary settings. Today I tried these: Guitar Les Paul Standard, Bridge pickup <<Edited ( I do not know why I wrote neck first time) LDR Reverb = 1 Maste...

Re: LDR - more distortion expected?

I do not think you should blame the power tubes. Signal that comes from LDR is kind of weak to push power tubes to breaking points. I like it actually like that so I can have really clean tone for some songs I play. You want that crunchy cleans and should consider different preamp tube (V1) or clean...

Re: LDR - more distortion expected?

I wouldn’t worry about that switch too much! Mine is very clean in LDR too even with Les Paul. I can get some crunches if I crank everything and use clean boost in front. In this video I was demoing something else but you got an idea how clean it can sound. When you hear crunch that means I am in HD...

@ HF1600ie
I think your amp is OK! You described a normal VM behaviour. Only thing you need to do is to play some RnR.

Re: Vintage Modern 2266 >> Loss of Power

OK, this is embarrassing and in order to punish myself I'm telling all the world. The tech called me and said that amp was just fine, he replaced two preamp tubes (he did not say which positions) It looks like I tried to the same by using some spare tubes which were probably bad too. The good thing ...

Re: Vintage Modern 2266 >> Loss of Power

@SteveD I suppose my output transformator is OK and whole power section Correct. Do you have a Multimeter and an Oscilloscope? I do have a Multimeter only! Even I do some electronic projects myself, I prefer to hire a professional when it comes to my dear, beloved Vintage Modern. Thank you for your...
