Hey Surf!
Thanks for the heads-up on the converter option. That makes this buy even sweeter and good to know!

Astoria 3 at Thomann - $1870+$32+ a new 120v transformer

Hey... I just saw a new Astoria 3 head at Thomanns UK, as seen below, for $1870+$31.82 shipping to the US and probably the added cost of buying and installing a new 120 volt transformer for US power, as Thomann told me the amps on their site are wired for 240 volt/50Hz. I know some of the older Mar...

Re: 12au7 in preamp

Hi Dana's Blues, I too, have found Mesa tubes to be overall, more reliable and consistent than any other tubes I have purchased. Mesa seems to do a good job weeding out inconsistent tubes. I haven't tried 6L6's in my VM, and due to how much I like the fullness and ringing tones I get with the GT KT6...

Re: Cleaning a Tung Oiled fingerboard/neck.

Hi Dana's Blues! Thank you for the excellent information. I will try these methods soon. I hear what you suggest for cleaning prior to treatment as "(A) couple of drops of Dove dish washing detergent in a mixture of half-and-half vinegar and water applied to the neck/ fingerboard with a soft cotton ...

Re: DSL-1H with 1912 experiences

Hi Makatech and welcome to the forum. I too, am a new member here, but have been playing a number of years. The thing I learned from swapping out speakers is what you are finding; each speaker seems to have its own sound, and in sometimes subtle ways and sometimes in not so subtle ways, a speaker "...

Re: Gibson Les Paul Tribute 2017 HP Review

Hey Surf! I had the same experience and satisfaction as you, except mine was from a 2015 LPM I purchased. I haven't owned a Gibson for a long time, but after I played the LPM for just a few minutes, I bought it. The Gforce tuning is excellent and the adjustable titanium nut is so simple, but so effe...
