Re: NGD Les Paul Special

The 3+ lbs lighter partly due to the lack of maple top.
The Juniors and Specials feature a flat top solid mahogany body with no carved maple top.
I love 'em.

Re: Video how to bias vintage modern!!!

Reckon the remaining three tubes might be old and tired.

Replace all four with a matched quad and bias the amp.

Re: How to Adjust a Truss Rod

A great resource for info on mods/repairs/setup of guitars is 'Dave's world of fun stuff' on YouTube.
Dave is a canadian guitar repairer who videos all his work and talks through what he is doing in a very entertaining manner.

Brilliant song by Whitesnake Mk1. Dunno why the youtube pic shows the 'bighair' version of the band?

Re: The final piece of my jigsaw

Pickups arrived this morning. Montys must be busy, six weeks since I placed my order. No complaints though. If you want a hand made product from a small artisan company, you gotta wait. Magnificent packaging, communication throughout the order time, and a free gift of Montys guitar wax to apologise ...

Re: Failure on a speaker Celestion Marshall vintage

Thomann are doing a Harley Benton 2x12 loaded with Celestion Vintage 30's for less than the price of the speakers ???????
Cabinet probably not brilliant but a good way to get cheaper speakers.

Re: Failure on a speaker Celestion Marshall vintage

I suspect the Marshall V30 and the Celestion are the same speaker but each company has it's own idea about power handling.
In your position I would be buying a replacement Celestion.

Re: The final piece of my jigsaw

Cheers Mate. Thanks for the reply. Have ordered this morning. As luck would have it, Montys have a 20% off promo running at the moment, that was a bonus. Will probably wire these in with the '50s' wiring. I tried it years ago but I don't think I gave it enough time to get used to it. Try it again wi...

Re: The final piece of my jigsaw

Hi kossofffan. I've been seriously considering going for a set of Montys PAFs. It looks like you may have been using yours for a couple of years. If you have I would value your opinion on them now and are they still 'doing the job'. They get some great reviews and I am very close to pulling the trig...

Re: Why I sold it !???

Had a great time with my Vintage Modern for a few years. One of the best rigs I've owned. Fantastic sound. Had to let it go when my lower back told me I shouldn't be loading 4x12's in and out of gigs. You mean you didn't just employ a roadie? :bgrin Gigs in my part of the world don't pay enough for...
