I have owned tons of modelers over the years including the ElevenRack, HD500x and more recently The AxeFX2 (I sold after 6 months for other gear). The AxeFX is a VERY comprehensive piece of gear. I realized it was more than I needed to be honest. I currently use a BOSS GT100 with my DSL40 and it sou...
BTW Did anyone from Marshall ever explain why the 15 watt version doesn't include an effects loop? Im pretty sure its a deal breaker for many people including myself.
Cool thread and great pics! Hey guys I have to ask your opinion on something. I have a DSL40 and I have replaced the speaker with a Veteran 30 and it made a big difference. But here is the "issue"/question: I am a bedroom/basement set-up player. At most Ill bring my amp to a friends house for a quic...
I'm sorry to vere this slightly off direction, but I was once a pedal junkie (years ago) and over the past few years, I have narrowed my pedal gear down to ONE pedal...the BOSS GT100. I'm using via the four-cable-method with my DSL40 (and extra 1x12 cab) and it does everything I need including switc...
I was wondering if anyone here can tell me from a technical point of view, at what point does the type of power tube you have in your amp matter. Let me explain. I know EL34s tend do have more mid-range and 6l6s tend to have more "headroom" and a bigger low end, but In my experience, it only seems t...
Those amps are monsters and in my experience, you're better off getting something like a Marshall DSL5C. It has a great effects loop and a line out/headphone out. I know its not the same thing but for bedroom/apt levels, I think the 1987 or 1959 are just too much. Thats just my opinion.
Hi everyone Im resurrecting this thread because I wanted to ask a question. I know we all prob have a few (or more) high end guitars in our arsenal (Les Pauls, PRS, USA Jacksons etc) but I was curios if anyone here has a "low cost" guitar that you love or just cant live without?
I don't think it's the type of amp that needs a loop. It has Pre FX (Compressor, Distortion, Auto Wah & Pitch Shifter) which are all based before the Pre-Amp. It also has Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Tremolo, Delay and Reverb which are all in 'the loop'. This personally is not the sort of amp that I'm ...
Very cool enjoy the amp! I really wish the combos had an effects loop. Ive become accustomed to using my BOSS GT100 with my DSL40 via the four-cable-method. I dont know if I can get along without the use of the BOSS's noise gate(s), channel switching, and wah!
Hey guys just something I was thinking about after messing with my friend's BOSS DS-1. I was using it on the clean channel of my DSL40 and it sounded pretty awesome. I know this might be a strange question in the presence of fellow gear nuts, but do you think expensive boutique pedals are worth it? ...
All mine are combos but it would work either way. I just pull the chassis out. Mark the 4 holes on the rack shelf. Drill up to size. I use the existing screws that are used in the combo to install the chassis to the shelf. Then install it all in a rack and I isolate everything from touching....
It should be easy to rack. Buy a rack shelf, pop a couple holes and install. I do that with my 1 watts. A 3 space rack is enough for one 50th amp chassis.
